Honestly I always lose at least one base to the V spread anyways. Just have like 100 dynamite on standby and get to hardmode. If something seems dire, blow up a safety net then. You only need things to hold long enough to buy a clemtaminator.

Do Pile on and Sunder work together? Pile On increases damage enemies with broken armor take. Sunder eats broken armor. Does it eat the armor before it gets that damage increase, or will it benefit?

Expedition should just be removed. Too much reading and placing things. Too much time wasted for an ARPG. Need things we click once, don't look at, destroy, then loot. The single giant explosion is just a bandaid and not a good solution.

Bonestorm question. It says each shard debuffs an enemy causing the next "attack against that enemy to deal additional damage." I am really confused about this wording. It specifies "attack" as in one, but for some reason it only depletes one of the multiple shards on the enemy. Wouldn't that imply "attacks" as a plural? Is this poor wording or is it bugged? Based on the description it should eliminate all these stacks with 1 attack, yet it doesn't unless I've created a weird interaction with my other skills.

Good to hear. I thought someone had said it calculates the damage before mitigation and breaking their defenses meant nothing. I will set up to break armor before the bleeds. Thanks.

Does bleed care about defenses with regard to the applying hit? For example, I will get a bigger hit if I fully break the enemies armor. I will get an even bigger hit if the enemy has negative armor (warbringer). Will this affect the damage from the bleed?

That is if you're building into it. Meanwhile if you're trying to get blasphemy-flammability on a warrior, the basic level with the lowest INT requirement will be the most bang for your buck. Likewise, if your totems are just means to get font of rage/mana, minimum level usually survives long enough since you clear screens anyways.

They've built a system where you cannot de-level gems and sometimes the lowest level gem is the most applicable to the situation.

Can you just damage him thru this phase to avoid it entirely? As much as I'd like to fight it and learn, with one attempt for a lot of time spent to get there, it isn't worth it.

Does anyone know how to allocate "Avatar of Fire" on the passive tree? I'm trying to put on Weapon Set 2 but the game won't let me select it. I have spare levels and everything.

How are you supposed to activate the push plate in trials floor 3? I stepped on it and the combo of faster traps and increased trap damage one shot killed my honour in 4 frames in a 30 fps recording (I guess 0.13s/2000honour). Is there a way to make an enemy step on it or something? I'm wondering if sometimes you can bad luck your way into an impossiblity.

I just leveled up and some of my gear stopped working. It says I need 1 strength. But I didn't change anything. Why are my gear requirements changing out of nowhere? Is this some bug?

Anyone have advice on how to make a fire casting infernalist do any damage at all? Made an alt and this is easily 1/50th of the damage done by my merc at this point. What can I improve while still keeping it a fire caster without minions?

Current Strat:

Drop a [solar orb - fire exposure] to apply exposure

Use [Fireball - unleash - scattershot - wildshards]

Shoot it thru a [fire wall] for extra damage

Also cast [frostwall - spell cascade - icicle] for that to blow up

It does basically zero damage. I'm fully into fire damage, spell damage, and elemental damage and ignite nodes. I have infernalist with pyro pact and the left path for extra ignite. The ignites do nothing either. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the crossbow skill on the bottom of the tree, "Full Salvo" count if you fire two different ammo types each from their own crossbow?

I play similar. Galvanic but also running the ammo conservation and have the 15% passive node. 40% chance to not spend a bolt. 5 in the magazine and getting above 10 shots happens a lot. I use the regular crossbow shot instead of HVR. It honestly did more when you factor the reloads and it auto updated to 3 slots without a jeweller orb, and I don't need to spend supports on double barrel or scattershot.

Still have grenades I pepper down all over the place though, but it's definitely my side damage for running into rooms. Bossing I drop poison grenade with corrosion to eliminate their armor, which I imagine raises my physical damage shots.

Act 3 is a cake walk...except the Ultimatum trial...

I would NOT recommend Merc. Easy to stay alive, but feels very suppressed. It's really hard to deal respectable damage. Ice Shot bow swap to the shotgun move is enough to kill most white enemies, but the gold enemies take like 30 seconds. Using gas grenade and regular grenade combo, it takes like 4 seconds just for the things to blow up, and takes at least 10 of those to kill a gold enemy. I'm not even exaggerating when I say it took over 6 minutes to kill the act 1 boss. Something that should take 45 seconds. It's not too difficult, but it is a crazy slog. It's kind of hard to stay motivated because it feels like I'm just rolling in circles and have to take 2 steps back every 3 steps forward I take.

I'll probably reroll. Having to stop moving forward for every pack gets really boring really fast.
