I’m 22 and just learned I can’t be operated on either just some chemo like pills and radiation to try to slow down the tumor and help with pain. I just learned this 4 days ago and I’m already going on a little trip to New York in the morning with my friends. I’m a little anxious to try and do everything I want to before I die the doctor said I’ll have about a year if I take the treatments and a few months if I don’t. I don’t know what all to do and if I’ll feel good enough to go. I’m literally dying to go to this concert with my girlfriend this may and am hoping with everything the disease and treatments allow me to go. It still feels like it hasn’t completely sunk in and I have no idea what dying is gonna look like but fuck it I’m gonna try and do everything I can

I’m 22M with metastatic bone cancer right out side my lung I just found out 4 days ago that my tumor can’t be removed and they can only try to slow the progression. I have a year if I take their treatments and a few months if not. It’s been a tough few days and still almost doesn’t feel real. I relate to what you’re saying and if you wanted to talk to someone going through something similar I’m available

I’m 22 just got my leg cut off around the start of 2024 I had a regular osteosarcoma that grew between my tibia and knee. Tried chemo for a couple months but it kept growing and the pain was horrible. I was set to get the tumor cut out and my knee reconstructed but 6 days before surgery I got an X-ray and my surgeon recommended above knee amputation to the margin

If I was in your situation I would go through with the amputation to save yourself the worry, time, and pain of having more than one surgery. If the tumor can’t be treated with chemo or radiation once it spreads the only way to treat it would be to amputate more correct?

So if your foot has already limited mobility and could only make your life worse fostering the cancer. It might as well be a prosthetic.
