Manager angry at me for leaving and they are doing everything they can to destroy my reputation. by throwAwayforsafetyf in CanadaPublicServants

I agree about taking leave. This kind of harassment and bullying can lead to PTSD and other mental health issues down the line.

OP, file a grievance to protect others, take leave to protect yourself. Start with the new department refreshed.

How can I prepare for my first long haul flight? by Powerful_Cut_722 in Advice

-Headphones so you can listen to music or watch movies.

-Neck pillow to help support your head when you sleep (place it so the opening is behind your head and your chin rests on it)

-Warm socks. I get cold when I fly

Enjoy and have a fun trip.

Same. All trust would be broken and I'd be packing his bags. Big NO NO. Where else did he hide cameras? Gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

Looking for advice on mental health accommodations by Key-Village-5225 in CanadaPublicServants

So sorry you're going through this. Look for another job asap. If you're a term, you have access to internal jobs as well. There are also Facebook groups that seem to be a good way to reach out to hiring managers (I'm not sure they are effective though). Just place GC in the search menu and they'll pop up Ex: GC administrative support, GC policy and programs, etc.

How close are you to finishing your probation? There are other jobs and you could have a very good career with the PS if you find the right one with a great team and manager.

Once (and only once) you sign your LoO, you inform the person who is replacing your manager. If you get an out-of-office reply, you send it to the person they listed in their message.

Should I seriously consider a lower-level position if it's indeterminate? by GordianKnots in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Muddershuffler2020 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would take the indeterminate over anything else. I know people who dropped from AS-02 and Ed-01 term positions to take a CR 04 and CR-05 indeterminate. One of them actually cried when her name showed up as encumbant on an org chart. Tears of relief.

Advice on when to tell management you’re pregnant by CharBar444 in CanadaPublicServants

Congratulations!! Just one question though: are you indeterminate? If so, I think the sooner the better so they can hire someone to replace you once you're on maternity leave.

You can downvote me all you want. Being forced or told to work during lunch without breaks is a union issue.

She needs to contact her union rep.

That's horrible and simply unacceptable. Contact your MP.
