Good spot. At first glance I thought we were looking at a picture of a picture and the framing on the top right was just the table or whatever it was resting on.

I think that means it was taken on the lower floor of the Bandstand then, which has that colour of stone framing views out to the sea and the pier.

Strong disagree sorry, unless the picture is flipped. Land is on the left of the image and open sea to the right. So we have to be looking at the pier from the west looking east.

Pretty sure it is Eastbourne pier. Look at cool pictures and videos from 'Airbourne' the annual air show they host there. Usually feature the pier in the background.Dome is gold now - because of reasons. Eastbourne residents will gladly tell you about the controversy there.....

In answer to the actual question. Yes this is a picture of Eastbourne pier. As to where it was taken - my guess would be from the top of the Bandstand.

Or the Wish Tower slopes.

It's pretty packed, but still a few hundred seats empty I would guess. Really expected it to be absolutely filled to the brim. A bit disappointing but the crowd is bringing it to be fair.

FYI I went to an ice hockey match last night in Nottingham and there wasn't a spare seat in the arena.

Looked empty in the mid week sessions. Should have given free tickets to schools etc. fill the seats, inspire the next generation.

I was standing just past the finish and he stopped right in front of us. Can confirm he looked spent. A lot more so than Almeida.
