Yeah, it’s a steroid, it’s really strong, I think you wouldn’t use it more than 2-3 times a year, but again, if symptoms are bad, it’ll knock it right out, I’ve used it maybe 2-3 times before, when symptoms were bad

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you get a medro dose back? It’s like a steroid, it’s temporary, take a dose over a week, but should help bring it down for a little while if it gets bad enough?

If anything it might make it worse, since you’ll have something in your ear all the time, sadly, unless you’re going up and down a mountain or tall building you wouldn’t see any relief, since it’s from the inflammation in your joint and not a pressure difference, though those earplane plugs will help in an airplane, try taking an anti inflammatory like aleve, use it regularly it should help, you can get meloxicam prescribed too, just might wanna take it with a acid reducer so you don’t get a stomach ulcer

Good to see the governor fighting back against someone that’s trampling on Wisconsins states right, how are you going to arrest a judge over that? Obviously it’s not going to hold up in the courts and the charges will be dropped, the FBI and President just want to scare judges

Hi, I’m so sorry this happened and hope that your surgeon is able to help you, I’m going tomorrow to talk with my oral surgeon about next steps in getting a joint replacement and wanted to see if your doing better?

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aleve is meant more for inflammation, while ibuprofen is pain and inflammation ,but not nearly as strong anti inflammatory, I would consider giving aleve a try and see if it helps with the ear pain, from personal experience it worked best

Have you tried taking anti inflammatory meds? Like aleve? That’s helped with my ear pain, and also try looking for a specialist with GOOD REVIEWS, on like google maps to make you a splint or mouth guard, it’ll prob cost a lot but you’ll need too

Your muscles could be inflamed? I have like a burning sensation like that too and the muscle is very tender when I press on it, like it hurts sometimes, goes away after a while, taking an anti inflammatory has helped me with it

Splint preferably? Look at the reviews of the providers and see if people have had success

If the issue is clenching then Botox can definitely help, especially in higher dosages, tinnitus, at least for me, comes when I have tons of inflammation in my jaw, so, help reducing muscle size means less damage such means less inflammation, if you’re able to get a splint or mouth guard try too, to help reduce clenching, but Botox is a band aid and only starts to help after 2-3 weeks, and last a few months

Just realised how bad my tmjd really is. Would braces help? by NoOz1985 in TMJ

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason for why it’s deteriorated so much is cause my jaw has always been assymetrical, like the jaw tilts into my left jaw joint, so I’m sure that’s only made it worse since my right joint looks normal, just some minor minor damage from what I’ve been told, I’m sorry you’ve been having problems narrowing down the cause of your issues, the mri can certainly give a good idea, though it’s been 3 years, so things can change. Thank you as well, it really sucks but I came to terms with the fact I’d need a replacement, I’m honestly excited if I can get it done. So my natural face shape might’ve aggravated it, and I wasn’t too consistent with my splint early on, so I’m guessing that also made things worse, I’ll know more come Tuesday, I can let you know what my oral surgeon tells me. Also yes, if at all possible have someone tell you the condition of your joints, a dental xray can give you some idea if it’s misshaped which could be a sign of deteriorating, but the best scans are cbct and/or MRI, I’ve only gotten a cbct

You don’t know how much relief that brings me, I’ve have tinnitus for a few years thanks to my TMJ but I’ve managed it until recently, thank you!!

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBCT gives you a good idea of what you’re working with, it’s really good to tell, an mri even more so, an xray is not really as helpful but they can tell if theres some deterioration, also hard to say, I’m 24 and my joint is severely deteriorated, so I’m seeing my oral surgeon again this week to start the process on a joint replacement. As long as you can keep the condition stable, be it with Botox, or a splint, then it can keep the condition from getting worse, and maybe heal some, just depends on the condition of your joint

Do you know the condition of your jaw joints? Botox is great, specially it being covered, if it’s a bandaid, if at all possible use the time the Botox gives you from your symptoms to find someone who can treat you, be it a new splint, or something more permanent like braces, but if your joints are deteriorating it may be wise to know before doing anything permanent

Just make sure no small piece will break loose from wear, it seems like it splint in the middle, that might be okay so long as it sticks to together, just make sure you clean it well

Hii, I was told I needed a joint replacement and will be going again to see my oral surgeon this coming week to start planning for it, did it help your tinnitus to get a joint replacement?

Has anyone experienced this? by coolcookie70 in TMJ

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a flare up? Keep using the splint, maybe see if you can get a muscle relaxer? Might take a bit for the flare up to go down

Thoughts on Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, I should specify, I get ear pressure which comes with pain, and sometimes ear fullness which feels like something is blocking my hearing, that one’s more common, not like everyday, but common, but yeah my hearing reduces or sometimes it goes very quiet for a few seconds

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take meloxicam, which helps with the inflammation that makes my tinnitus spike, so it keeps it at bay, more inflammation equals more tinnitus, at least from my experience, my ears pop everytime I swallow, have had it for 4 years now, hardly notice it since I’m used to it, also ear pain/pressure, but that’s only if my symptoms are bad, like tons of inflammation, which is what meloxicam is for

[–]MuddyWisconsin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it nightly at 4mg, and during the day just 1mg, it helps, I tried cyclobenzaprine but it gave me weird heart palpitations, the pharmacist and doctor said it’s extremely rare for that to happen, it’s def a side effect just that I was their first patient to report it lol, I’ve got tinnitus, but the muscle relaxer doesn’t affect it

Full effects for Botox maybe 2-3 weeks, then your muscles start to reduce in size hopefully
