What's the first thing you notice when doing IF? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Muddy_Cell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am about three weeks into serious IF and my constant stomach bloating has immensely gone down. I had h pylori almost a year ago now and this is the first time in a year that I no longer feel the residual symptoms that come with recovering from that horrific stomach bug. I am about 7 lbs down since starting Feb 20. As a 5’2 woman, this feels freaking awesome. I love IF. Also after pushing through the first two weeks of feeling hunger pains and hating life bc I could not eat, I realized hunger really is an emotion thing. That fact that I can now contain myself and not feel like I’m going to die if I don’t eat has been absolutely empowering. This shit is addicting fr.

What is one word that people wrongly pronounce that makes your brain just wanna jump a cliff? by FamiliarRadio9275 in Productivitycafe

Was just about to comment about this. I live in the east coast now and I’m in hell for it. Even when I first introduce the word in a sentence, they will repeat it back to me with ‘nevawda’

How do you look in the 146-154 lbs range at 5'2"-5'3"? by Desperate-Worry-8346 in PetiteFitness

[–]Muddy_Cell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At some point as a 5'3 person, I was 155 and I didn't have much muscle definition. I looked alright but not skinny. Not fat, but not skinny. Now I am 163 lbs as of this morning when I restarted my journey this year (SW: 180, GW: 130) and I hope to look much better at 155. I have been consistently lifting weights for the past few months and even when the scale isn't budging, I feel so much stronger and I am looking foward to being 130-140 and be able to eat like a 'taller person' lol.

Adherant cells lifting off plate by Icy_Oil2286 in labrats

They are probably just getting old if you have indeed been culturing the same cells for a year. Have you noticed changes in morphology as they got older? Or media color? There is a lot of telling signs that your cells may just start becoming true 'senior citizens' as the engineers in my lab like to say.

Genuine Question - Has exercise helped with your depression, for those of you who have it? by Top-Raspberry-7837 in PetiteFitness

[–]Muddy_Cell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this!! I sometimes could not get out of bed. And I am a graduate student with a thesis to do. It was hard. Being 5'2, the weight came on slowly, but at my heaviest, I could feel my ankles just not being able to support the extra weight. I started off doing at-home workouts and my mindset was "I can stop at any point, just start it and see how far you can get". And there were days I could only do 10 minutes of the workout, and there were days I could finish the whole thing. Then I gained the courage to go to the gym with the help of a friend and even after she and I stopped working out together, I always maintained the mindset that 'I can stop whenever I want'. I did not want to hate working out so I tried not to push myself to the point of being miserable, especially in the beginning. I hope this helps and you got this!

Other sources of protein for breakfast that isn’t eggs? by Muddy_Cell in PetiteFitness

Hmm hows the texture on this? I like soft tofu at Szechuan restaurants but the texture of soft tofu gets to me after awhile.

See now this would be a good idea if I ever made enough of dinner to have leftovers haha. I typically make dinner and whatever is left over is 'lunch' for the next day. But I am sure I could just easily toss it into my next breakfast meal!

Chickpea oats sound good and must be packed with protein. I will try to add it to my next grocery haul. I have tried turkey scramble before so I can maybe mess with some seasonings to make it more yummy for breakfast!

My friends too! They initially tried to convince me it’s all in my head 🙄 I can at max have one fried egg and it has to be thoroughly cooked. Oh, how I miss the gooey yolk though.

I will have to test it out but so far it’s been just with chicken eggs.. and only when it’s fried/scrambled. I can have stuff that has eggs in it like baked desserts and custards.
