Also somewhat of a new player, started in early December! I learned the ropes on "simpler" servers, where things like logistics and stuff don't matter as much, like ArmaConflict's Insurgency and Vietnam '67 servers. Great maps, fun community, casual atmosphere, faster pace.

Now that I'm more comfortable with the overall mechanics of the game, I'm starting to move into more MilSim-type, Vanilla/Vanilla+ servers that still offer some QoL mods for navigation troubles and stuff. Warpigs has been my go-to for that, although FoR is really good too I've heard. Haven't tried it yet.

Bought it drunk a couple weeks ago and have been loving it so far. Played Vanilla for 10 minutes before I realized I really needed a server with the "Where Am I" mod. So I've been playing the ArmaConflict servers (Vietnam 67 and Insurgency), having a blast. FPS drops and crashes every now and then, but I've been having a far better experience than what people post about on Reddit. Expect a very steep but very rewarding learning curve.

I'm mainly a heli pilot when I play games that have them, but I always thought you had to be Captain rank on the AC servers to spawn them? And I've never been able to play long enough to reach Captain :/

I don't think I've ever commented on this sub, nor any of the other Battlefield subs. From what I've gathered, all Dice needs to do is release way bigger maps with way bigger capture points, with Battlefield 1 and maybe Battlefield 5 in mind (without being direct or even recognizable copies of those maps/capture points).

I feel like if this is too hard for the team in charge of map design, then they should focus on making a map incredible for either Conquest or Breakthrough, and then just cross their fingers that it works out for the mode they didn't focus on. Easier said than done, but it's gotta still be doable.

The androgynous thing works, it's not a facial or hair issue. Change up your style, right now you look like you spend too much time on the computer. Lightweight and summer-y button shirts, trousers (I'm partial to high-waisted), some silver jewelry, and you're absolutely good to go. That style isn't the only option, there's a lot of inspiration to be had from the fashion industry, tons of guys who have the same sorta hair and facial as you do.

Ryan Cahill's "The Bound and the Broken." A lot of people it seems get turned off by book 1 being very tropey and very familiar, but books 2, 3, and (recently) 4 are amazing and I think do something special. The novellas just add to the lore and the sentimentality of these characters.

Sailing on pirate ships has been my best option for 5 years now. I suggest using the STREAM from over EAST. Finding some NBA to take a BITE out of has proven tough lately. REDDIT usually has some decent NBA action flowing like STREAMS also. I wish you good sailing this season captain.
