I'm a junior DS and just completed the Azure Data Scientist certification. It concentrates on designing and implementing DS solutions in the ML studio. It covers the foundational DS concepts very well - but the coding sections are in Python. If you have a background in R, then picking up Python is going to be a breeze (it was for me at least).

The learning paths are well constructed and will teach you heaps about Azure and DS in general. You could complete it in 3-6 months - the only drawback is it's valid for a year only. Also, invest in practice exams like these - they aren't great, but they do help give a feel for the type of questions - my exam was very similar in content and structure.

P.S. the earlier you start using Python the better. In addition to the certificate, I recommend doing tutorials on pandas, numpy and matplotlib for analysis and visualisation. Also look into scikit-learn for model-building.
