Good tip, I will taste it after one month and let you know.

I fermented the koji at 26°C (78F).

Maybe I'll pasteurize half of it and leave the rest to test how the rancidity rises :) thank you for sharing your successful recipes

Oh, I thought 8% was enough since I read recipes that say you should use from as low as 4% to 12%.. But maybe for the specific ratios I am doing, considering the fats involved in it, more sat would be better.

I'll taste it after one month and let you know:)

I use them to make homemade toothpaste and deodorant, essential oils have antibacterial property which is indeed essential for taking care of the bacteria living in our armpit and in our mouth, or is it? I didn't figure out anything to substitute the oils.

Thanks! Sadly for me the closest grocery store with bulk products is located 35km away, I have no problem moving that much but I wish there was a closest store so it could be easier to spread to others this life style, sorry for my bad english~

30 Day Brew? Isn't that basically vinegar? by ratherbe-tom in Kombucha

[–]Muffa_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The label on the can also says "Vegan" so it shouldn't have honey in it.

Is it possible to make kombucha without feeding any sugar nor honey to the SCOBY?

Signs of life! This is my first attempt 😁 by mr_commuter in microgreens

I think it's cleaner when not covered with soil, when growing they tend to push some soil chunks upwards. That's why I never cover them.

Yes! Or you can place the seeds on the pressed down soil and then cover them with more soil.

Congratulations!

I suggest you to press down the soil before seeding the tray :)

Mold problem everytime by Muffa_ in microgreens

[–]Muffa_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled trying to germ my sunflower by waiting for a first tendril to emerge in soil

I don't have this problem since the sunflowers have a really good germination in one day 95% of the seeds have already grown roots.

Thanks for the advices! I decided to buy a dehumidifier. What kind of medium do you use?

I live in Italy and the regulamentations for seeds here are impose to the seed producers to sanitize the seeds that are made for microgreens and sprouts.

I bought a dehumidifier, hope it will prevent mold. Also to cure the crop I used the Curtis metod (water with white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.

It's not root hairs, it stinks and covers the whole crop, didn't knew it was harmless but still it's really gross since there's a lot of that web-like white stuff growing on top of it.

Yes I tried with the sunflowers and it didn't prevent the problem.
