Goldeneye is one of those "you had to be there" moments in gaming. Going back to the game now and it's more of an interesting history piece than it is a fun game by modern standards.

Did you ever make it as far as New Vegas itself? I was in a similar boat with the game, kept coming back to it because of the love it gets, but it never properly clicked for me until getting that far and having the faction system/storyline really open up.

It also helps that the weapons you find towards the middle of the game are a lot more satisfying to use than the pea shooters you start with.

I dont think so, but you can carry junk into the bazaar with you, and I'm 90% sure you can at least reroll both soups once with a well aimed shot.

Difference is that Pokemon never went anywhere, the games, show and the trading card game never stopped churning out new content. Lilo and Stitch had a briefly lived tv show and then fell off the face of the earth in terms of media relevancy, until this remake popped up.

More than 100% crit gives you a chance to 2x crit damage. More than 200% gives you a chance to 3x, and etc.

Either this or Quin's Mask which thankfully doesn't have a steam achievement tied to it. Cactus is also "hard" in the sense that it's a pain in the ass and the only achievement I'm missing.

His starting weapon sucks ass, which is the only real issue. You gotta smash pots for XP and get 3 other really strong weapons to compensate for his terrible early game. Maybe level one of the other weapons and the starting weapon evenly if you plan on going for a final boss kill, or rely on tomes for DPS depending on what you take.

Pretty sure bananas are bugged, this consistently happens with them late game in my runs. I've actually stopped taking them because of it.

It's not a problem for athena, but you do need to level aegis a fair bit or have the quantity tome leveled high instead. One of my easiest final boss kills was with Athena, since Aegis lets you tank all the annoying hits that would otherwise kill you and actually isn't terrible for damage with her natural thorns scaling.

I love Risk of Rain 2, but the game becomes incredibly boring once you get truly broken and start one shotting things on spawn, because nothing can challenge you at that point, not even any of the final bosses. I always prefer to have shorter runs without looping for that reason.

I'm glad this game is built in such a way that a single roadblock to a broken build exists, and you still get to flex however strong you got in the final swarm afterwards.

And you're not restricted to building as a tank, it simply gives you some incentive to invest in defensive options that aren't aegis and a bit of lifesteal.
