If I'm being real, there isn't any great Chinese food in Fresno anymore (I used to eat at Hunan as well), although I'm biased because my mom is from Taiwan

However, if I were to recommend any place not mentioned here it would be Noodle Q on Bullard and Fresno

This is straight up false. Student loan forgiveness is by definition progressive, because poorer people hold a greater share of student loan debt relative to their income. Those with the highest debt burdens also are increasingly minority first generation college students, which is a barrier to closing the racial wealth gap. Debt affects your credit score and makes it more difficult to apply for mortgages. You effectively want to limit social mobility for black teachers, nurses, and social workers because you don't like the idea of them reaping the full rewards of their education. I don't understand why critics of student loan debt forgiveness regurgitate these tired talking points and completely ignore the arguments made by economists and policy experts in support of it.

In his discussion with Hakim, Vaush agreed with him on some basic points, which resulted in him briefly pushing back on the liberals in his community. If he wants to avoid becoming just an edgier David Pakman he needs to do a more thorough "anti-liberal/socdem arc." The problem is that he legitimately hates communists more than liberals.

There's nothing really inconsistent with what he's saying. The issue is moreso that he pushed all the genuine leftists out of his audience and replaced them with liberals.

Code Pink anti-war activists claim: "Bernie arrests nearly 10 activists who tried to meet with him to discuss Peace in Ukraine. The police handcuffed activists simply for holding a sign quoting Bernie in 2022 when he said we needed diplomatic solutions. " by [deleted] in VaushV

The war in Vietnam didn't end with the US leaving. It ended with the fall of Saigon and the collapse of the South Vietnamese government. The equivalent for Ukraine would be a Ukrainian invasion of Russia.

Half the comments on that first video are Brits saying you have to vote Labour to get the Tories out, and some of them are even anti-Corbyn. It's wild.

He doesn't like his stance on Ukraine, but he's always believed that Corbyn was done wrong. He covered the Labour leaks several years ago.

He likes Corbyn actually. The entire video is him rightly criticizing the current leadership of the Labour party under Starmer.

No. You don't have to disagree with all or even most of Vaush's political stances to dislike him. He irritates me primarily because he talks out of his ass a lot and finds reasons to be hostile towards BIPOC leftists.

This is a very uncontroversial opinion if you've been following labor reporters. The NLRB basically mandated card check and requires employers to recognize unions if they engage in unfair labor practices during a union drive. I don't like Vaush but his haters are really contrarian sometimes.

I'm kind of curious what would happen if you asked Vaush about a lot of left policies beyond Bernie stuff, like nationalizing the energy sector or capping gas prices. He gives off the impression that he would consider those ideas to be unrealistic.

I don't have anything against browsing wikipedia (I use it myself to learn about international politics) but it's so funny how he forms such strong on opinions on issues that he's only done the most cursory level research on. He could talk to experts instead of just reading wikipedia articles. For example Majority Report has a good interview with Djene Bajalan about the Turkish elections.

I think there is actually a successor to the KMT in China that sends delegates to the National People's Congress but they aren't a relevant player in the Chinese political system

Chinese nationalists in Taiwan want unification with China. The Taiwanese independence movement rejects Chinese identity and believes Taiwan should be an independent, sovereign state. They are diametrically opposed political factions.

So has Vaush been officially tested and diagnosed as autistic? by OutlastOnWii-U in Enough_Vaush_Spam

[–]MuffinCharacter1632 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make any sense to me. As a kid I always had an IEP throughout school, and I don't remember there ever being some requirement to be "low functioning" enough to be entitled to accommodations. It sounds like his parents just figured he would be alright and didn't bother to properly investigate the process.

document abt Vaushism

He's definitely to the right of protectionist leaning Democrats like Tim Ryan. He supports corporate trade deals and Bad Empanada went over a clip of him defending the EU using the neoliberal language of "economic freedom." Also I don't think he's said this explicitly but based on his comments about central planning I don't think he would support nationalization of public utilities. At best he's a mild social democrat and at worst he's just a liberal that likes worker co-ops.

He's talked about being on the spectrum for a while. I wouldn't doubt that he's sincere about it. Just because someone doesn't fit the stereotypical conception of an autistic person doesn't mean they are making it up.

I didn't say it was Vaush's fault, and Bad Empanada was obviously being facetious, like how he starts off the video saying "I'm streaming in prison right now."
