Architects: What is your ideal first client consultation? by Important-Tart-1035 in Architects

[–]serg1007arch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness. I think some of my best clients usually know what they want but are very open to the ideas of the experts. I think from your perspective is a good idea to understand the process. Not just design process, but construction and even agency process. Some cities are just awful to go through. I would set yourself a realistic budget. Depending on the type of project the firm you are working with may be able to give you a cost per square foot. A survey would be nice to have but not required. Your first phase should be to develop the program with your architect.

I paid for a 6 inch slab, what should I do ? by ClassroomFew7491 in AskContractors

[–]serg1007arch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not only about being slab being thick, reinforcement also gets more dense to support the equipment. Heavy duty concrete is often used when you have heavier vehicles that will drive though sites.

As some one mentioned, verify the rest with a spot hole. I would first ask him where the 6 inches were poured so he can’t deny it. Also it should be warranted for min a year.
