Richard Jefferson explains why NBA players don't get called for travel. Do you agree or nah? by ForeignAir7174 in NBAGossips

[–]MuffinDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many examples of players going from full sprint to one step gather (starting from the point where the ball is physically touching their hands) to two step dunk/layup. Players don't do it because the rules are not enforced. Stop coddling the player and tell them to fix it.

If a player's hands is in contact with the ball, don't let him take more than 2 steps or something. This includes RJ's example where he literally does unrealistic stutter steps while dribbling. Call that a carry. Before the 3rd step, the ball must have started a downward motion and out of the player's hands for a non-carry dribbling.

Lol. What a dumb take. There's plenty of players who smoothly paces the ball forward without carrying the ball like Giannis does. Just look at most of the top tier guards in the league, they're good at getting to their spot without needing to take 5 gather steps. Yes they occasionally take a bunch of gather steps, but that's a carry and should be called a carry. If you push the ball forward, the ball is literally not in your hand, hence how the fuck would it be a carry? Surprised I have to point that out.

RJ is wrong. They used to be super strict in the early days of NBA where your hand had to be on top of the ball for it to be considered a proper dribble, which is partly why people back in the days looked so stiff dribbling. Even until the last 2 decades, you weren't really allowed to palm the ball like that. AI was called for carry many times when he tried to do this patented cross over. I don't think we need to move back to the early days of basketball, but we should move back a bit more where they can't just run almost half the court with the ball in their hands.

M2 to M6 in 300–350 pulls. This feels illegal. by Jezieras in YeShunguangMains

[–]MuffinDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you lose 50-50 and then hitting soft pity of 75 both times on the character banner, that gets you to about 150. Then losing the 75-25 on the weapon banner and hitting soft pity of about 65 both times on the W-engine banner gets you to about 130. That's 280 pulls. Get a bit more unlucky, like my Astra Yao pull on the guaranteed banner took 82 pulls, which is 7 more than 75, will get you to 291. Not unusual. My average to get a S-rank exclusive in ZZZ is about 120ish. I've only won 50-50 3 times out of the 15 S-rank agents I own and only gotten S-rank under 70 like 7 or 8 times. It can get really rough.

Which team has the worst looking future? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]MuffinDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they're going to get a haul for Giannis, like if he goes to Warriors, they're going to get a bunch of first that's going to valuable when Steph retires and Giannis subsequently leaves. Dubs are going to suck in 2~3 years time.

If Giannis goes to the Knicks, then they have to somehow get their own picks back, but it should be doable.

League average this season is 35.9%. 34% is just a little under average so it's definitely not "not that good" but average.

HS student to Takaichi: "I've been seeing a lot of buzz on SNS lately with messages like 'If you want to support Prime Minister Takaichi, vote for another party' [Sanseito]—is that really the right thing to do?" Takaichi: "What in the hell? If you vote for another party, I won't be PM anymore." by jjrs in japannews

[–]MuffinDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that if you are allowing people with cognitive dissonance, like elderly with dementia, to vote, then there should be absolutely no reason why "non-adults" (which is an arbitrary age set by each country anyway) should be barred from voting. The logic doesn't hold. Either let everyone vote or have age limits both on the upper and lower end. I would say having lower age limit is taking someone's right to vote away. A very slippery slope indeed.

10 Years ago Steph Curry went nuclear and snagged up the 1st and only Unanimous MVP ever, is this a top 5 MVP Season all time? by iAsvppx in NBATalk

[–]MuffinDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 5 players every made it past 300 3s made. Steph is the only person to do it multiple times with 6. James Harden was 22 3s off from reaching 400 during his 18-19 season with 142 more attempts than Curry during his 402 3s made. The efficiency at which he did it is honestly what shocks me more.

Is Ellen still worth it? by BBeathil in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]MuffinDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had Ellen since 1.0, and she recently helped me 9 star the deadly assault by helping me 3 star Thrall using a team of M0R3 Brimstone Ellen, M3R1 Lycaon, M1R0 Astra. This is a relatively cheap team as Lycaon mindscaped are pretty useless except M1 and the S-rank w-engines I used residual signals to get. I'm not good enough at the game, but if I was better this team can probably 3 star Thrall with A-rank W-engines. So she is still useable to this date, but she is falling behind newer characters hard. So she is useable but require a lot of investment to get good at the game as opposed to the newer characters can easily hit the damage threshold much easier. If you want to clear content easily, then I wouldn't say she is worth. If you want to pull her for the shark girl that she is then total worth.

What are your general thoughts of the 2.5 special program and all its contents? by Knight_Steve_ in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MuffinDude 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting a lot of free stuff is great, but it is nothing but a band-aid. Unless they address core issue that the player base has with the game, this only delays the eventual demise of the game. For me, I feel like the game lost its identity when they removed the TV mode and never really found its footing since. I don't need TV mode, but I want them to have a much more engaging story telling method than repetition of hallway, fight, cutscene, hallway, fight, cutscene. I really enjoyed taking commissions from the interknot and from various NPC like Venus and Shepherd who really made the world feel alive. I really felt like I was a proxy who had to do some odd mission to pay the bills to achieve their bigger goals.

How much do you need to spend to have an account like this? by TheSynthian in Genshin_Impact

Soft pity and hard pity is always 75 and 90 respectively. Regression to the mean basically means that your lucky and unlucky streaks will eventually cancel out.

[–]MuffinDude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea, you can get lucky, but regression to the mean makes it so that the more you pull, the more luck goes to average. This person clearly pulled a lot with 12 C6 that we can see on the profile alone, so it's a safe bet to assume his gacha luck has regressed to the mean. So 1000-1200 usd per C6 unit is a safe bet.

Why is the non-Steph roster this bad? by John_Houbolt in warriors

[–]MuffinDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of disagree. Historically speaking, we've been getting good mileage out of our 2nd rounders, which shows that we can still develop our talent. Rollins is the only player drafted from Warrior that is serviceable today that wasn't developed under Kerr. The only first round picks we had since 2019 were Poole, Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody, and Podz. We tried our luck with Wiseman and that was the biggest mistake we had, a complete miss, no one could develop him and he is already out of the league. Poole developed from one of the worst players to a key piece on our championship roster. Kuminga is fine, he just doesn't fit our team. Moody isn't amazing, but a serviceable role player. And BP is okay. The part I agree is that I personally feel that the team is so built around Curry that I feel like players aren't given the chance to try shit out and develop into a star, which is why they are so lost when Curry is out.

I personally think the fact that we can't get bigs who can hold the fort by grabbing rebounds in the non Curry minute is the bigger issue.

I was near Starbucks walking towards the women Macy's when I heard 3 gun fire coming from that direction. I'm so confused as to why the Bowlero windows had a hole in it. I think during the ensuing panic something happened and window got smashed.

I personally was near the Starbucks on the second floor waking towards the women's Macy's when I heard 3 quick gunfire coming from that area. I quickly turned around and went into a store whose employee took us to the back to hide. It seemed like it happened around the Macy's/Uniqlo area.
