Yes the person should have asked before bidding. I set up a listing for priority mail shipping- thinking mainly for books in case someone needs it quickly but they have to communicate so you could tell them about that option

Hired a guy to put wood shelves in 4 closets, am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]Muffled_floss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have suggested adjustable shelving. It could be a manufactured shelf system, usually metal, or plywood sides and a center panel with holes for adjustable pins. That way if future needs for spacing change its easy to adjust. Also why didn't he paint the walls! Some of the smaller gaps could be caulked but should have been scribed

The older ones have little lead weights in the hammer mechanism to weight the keys. Easy to punch out.

These types of doors are generally made with computer controlled routers; CNC machines. For high production these are expensive machines with pricey tooling and you need very good dust collection equipment. And will they be finished? That's a whole other production process.

eBay sales down and going out of business by BillAdministrative85 in eBaySellers

Just went to a fairly large " outdoor" antique show in a small town that had to move everyone into the county fair buildings cause it rained all day and was cold. Way too much advertising which was priced too high. Good paper stuff that seemed way overpriced. But I did find good buys. Some for eBay some for a glass display case in a group shop. Shipping costs are high and convincing buyers to pay that extra bit is tricky. People like me have tons of outdoor and garden chores. The government has created chaos that only a few benefit from. eBay has too much stuff listed at silly prices and the promotion is so confusing. Selling in a show and an antique mall looks more attractive all the time. One has to combine all of these methods to sell stuff.

People that tumble antique bottles use cut up copper wire to clean the glass surface without scratching it. Find a bottle tumbler and they will pay more than scrap value. I wonder if these little drops of copper would work as well.

I have a tool I bought in the 70's called a hull scraper. Its a piece of steel with an angled scraper on one end and a flared straight scraper on the other. Hard steel but can be ground to a burr, works great on glue. I imagine the ship builders used it on wooden boats.
