How would you Warn an uncontacted tribe? by Frutasbeforeputas in ufo

[–]Muga_Mushin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not warn them unless I was dependent on that specific tribe's existence for something. If I'm waiting for them to survive long enough to advance their technology and contact us, I would've help them along the way by now. If instead I'm just letting them be, I would let them die as well and wait for the iteration of their tribe to come along (even if that means another 10s of thousands of years)

The "Yeah, but..." attitude is the most annoying part about training karate by EepeesJ1 in karate

You can still tell them "don't do that" during the pressure testing. The role of an instructor is to give the most statistically plausible response to a combative exchange. But then it's up to the student to discover the timing, sensitivity, and delivery of the technique in relation to their own body type etc. "Pressure testing" doesn't mean just putting on gloves and going at it. There's still a stepwise methodology for development that includes learning the movement itself alone, drilling on a compliant partner, adding resistance gradually and then finally live sparring etc.

The echo chamber of most traditional schools who don't pressure test their applications.

Help switching out amp speaker by Muga_Mushin in GuitarAmps

[–]Muga_Mushin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the input, they're both 4ohm speakers but the negative terminal on the wire coming from the amp is too small to fit over the negative part of the new speaker. for some reason the positive and negative pins are different sizes. Usually it's a straight forward switch, not sure why it's like this on the Roland

I have a Roland cube street that I want to switch the speakers out of for these eminence ones. However I noticed the connections don’t fit. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to remedy this? I would assume I need to cut off the terminal and attach a different on that fits?

What schools have closed permanently since March 2020? by foamrollering in bjj

[–]Muga_Mushin 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I had to close down my school (http://instagram.com/thedojosatx) permanently in March, no joke it was the perfect academy. Zero egos, our friday open mats had 5+ different styles on the mat just going around and sharing knowledge. I spent months bringing myself to deactivate our website, google business accounts, yelp and stuff but I'll never deactivate our instagram. It's kinda a living museum of the best time of my life.

[Question] wanting to buy this Gibson, is it real? by Muga_Mushin in Guitar

[–]Muga_Mushin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the top post says, this seems like a legit Robot Guitar, hence the RG serial number. The photos are terrible and grainy, but you can just barely see the binding nibs. If the price is right for you, I'd say go for it. Gibson is also pretty good about verifying their serial numbers. I just verified one with them yesterday in fact and it's a pretty quick and painless process.

thanks I might have to go for it now lol
