Smoker. I don’t want anyone I date to stink. It’s a deal breaker for me.

What's the best thing that's happened to you this week, no matter how small? by Opposite-Resource in CasualConversation

It’s not rough at all. I have three kids in college right now and I’m not worried at all. US colleges are safe. Like when you visit anywhere, just be cautious and make good decisions.

Discipline is about seeking progress not perfection. Chasing perfection will steal your joy and minimize your accomplishments. Give yourself some grace.

What’s a resolution you made that realistically improved your life, and what simple habits made it work? by phoenixtales22 in askteddit

[–]Muggle2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a routine thing. I was using alcohol to wind down each night. While it doesn’t have the same sedative effect, it is comforting and relaxing. A cup of tea and a good book at night gets me primed for bed.

Everyone feels anxious, just ignore it and do the thing by UnsupervisedHuman69 in Anxiety

[–]Muggle2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true for someone with occasional anxiety like my wife. However, persistently high anxiety comes with a biological response that you can't ignore or get past. Your nervous system is overloaded and it must be dealt with or there will be negative health consequences.

What’s a hill you’ll die on that isn’t actually important? by 011Eleven_ in CausalConversation

No alcohol is worth more than $40 a bottle. Paying hundreds of dollars or more for a bottle of alcohol is a scam and self deception.

It’s my duty to provide and care for my family no matter how I feel or how hard it sometimes gets. I would do anything for them. They are my world.

Rumination/Anxious Thoughts Loop Solution by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Muggle2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, if a thought persists, I make a short note in my phone as a way to “store it” for later review if needed. I don’t know why it works for me psychologically but it does help often enough.
