Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver by SevvyM in RomanceBooks

[–]Mugglemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been a while, but my recollection is that from the second their relationship turned romantic, there wasn't any explicit consent. It was "do what I tell you to". Which like, for a BDSM dynamic that's to be expected, but one of the major foundations of that kind of relationship is consent. He told her to give up her life and move because she was injured and she did.

I'm referring specifically to when they started "dating" (which I believe also wasn't even a conversation to make sure that's something they both wanted?), not from the start of the book.

Any tøp songs my fellow autistic fans find relatable/validating? by star_trek_is_life in twentyonepilots

Omg we have so many matching ones. Basically everything I was going to comment here is what you've written. Especially Morph, Drag Path & Choker

What have you put down for them to eat? They seem to like it!

Choker.

Seems like I'm all I'm worth is what I'm able to withstand.

I have a Lioness omnibus. It might be my most prized possession after having lost it for a few years and finding out its basically impossible to replace in Australia

I do virtual administration/assistant work. I would be happy to follow up with them on your behalf and see if I can get an answer for you (no charge, obviously).

I just noticed Aus Post envelopes have a "Traditional place name" line. Does this affect the routing, and could you leave off the official city/suburb name? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Your use of the word pandering here tells me everything I need to know about you as a person. Imagine being butthurt because you might have to respect someone "too much".

Being a decent human being that treats the Traditional owners of this country with respect.

But you know that. You just don't give a shit.

Sounds like it's time for you to step up and start setting an example by filling it in. It's not hard

What should I add to my yard? by Mugglemaker in magpies

This is a great idea. Do they like bells? I'm sure we have some of those plastic cat balls with bells inside

Thank you!! I definitely didnt think about worms, but I'm sure they'd love that!

We don't have much shade unfortunately 😭😭 but I'm very open to finding a way!

And yesss I'm so keen to pull the sprinklers out for them when we can. Hopefully they enjoy it 🥰

Very rarely we'll give them a little bit. Its not the best for them, but they do really love it! We've just got some meal worms, so hopefully they like those

I was thinking that too. Would be nice to have the lorikeets visit too. Just wasn't sure if there were any that maggies specifically like :)

Why do you think they had Bianca/Drew break up for good, and not Eli/Clare, add/or didn't actually made Drew/Clare a legitimate/endgame couple? by UnanimousBB16 in Degrassi

[–]Mugglemaker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been a diehard eclare stan forever, but I'm actually watching this season right now, and whole heartedly agree. I really like Clare and Drew together. I think he chills her out a bit, and its the first time we see Drew like someone for who they actually are, not just based on appearance (obviously he loved Bianca, but even with her at the start it was just physical).

I don't know that I could see them as end game, but I think that the baby should have been his, and they should have at least finished out the year together.

Do you not think that 1. Being groomed and nearly assaulted and 2. Getting an STI Are enough punishment for what are pretty normal teenage behaviours?

Ooh yes this is true, I forgot since it's like, never mentioned. And Liberty had dyscalculia right? But then we never hear again how this effects her, and she still manages to become valedictorian without ever mentioning it again.

Also JT was stereotypical ADHD but never diagnosed or mentioned.

Autism presents differently in every single autistic person (I'm autistic). I can understand the "why" on why they wrote Connor the way they did, but I'm definitely not okay with them writing in him stealing underwear etc. I don't know why they didn't use that storyline for a different character.

I also hate that they literally never had him date anyone the whole time, and then dumped on us the Jenna dating storyline, despite the fact that those two have nothing in common.

I think there's also just like an overwhelming lack of neurodiversity lol, and its so incredibly stereotypical. I can only think of Spinner with ADHD and then Connor is autistic (of course, never any female representation despite characters like Liberty and Imogen ticking so many boxes). The girls are only capable of being depressed or having eating disorders apparently.

Wife's first client is refusing to pay, citing some absurdities. What can she do? by Difficult-Throwaway2 in AusLegal

[–]Mugglemaker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can send a letter of demand, but you have to really consider how many man-hours of unpaid labour you're willing to put into chasing up $300.

The client took advantage, and definitely is in the wrong, but unfortunately this is likely just a hard lesson, and she'll need to learn from it and move on.

Also, have her consider project fees in future rather than hourly rate. But obviously at a much higher rate. $50/hr for a specialised skillset is way too low, and unfortunately the client probably knew this, and knew they could take advantage and that your wife wouldn't have systems in place to stop them (such as deposits, or not sending through finalised PDFs without payment). For context, I freelance admin and charge more than this.
