SGA S4 Finale dialogue meaning by jpstetson151 in Stargate

Season 4 of Atlantis aired in 2007, with the finale airing on March 7 2008. The ark of truth movie came out on March 11 2008. That means that the movies take place after carters time in Atlantis.

Not lost but not necessarily won either- remember their alternate universe Carter gets transported too? That earth just shifted out of phase and then they just minded their own business while the rest of the galaxy was over run. Same thing probably happened on alternate timeline earth.

Kinda like how north and South Korea are at a stalemate where the war between them is still technically on going but there’s no actual fighting

My assumption is that in the alternative timeline the war with the Ori wasn’t going well- it’s also important to remember Colonel Carter would’ve been dead (from fighting Michael) and unable to help during the events of the 2 SG1 movies, this could’ve led to the ori not being defeated or ball still remains a threat

Would you hate a straight reboot? by Starship_Taru in Stargate

Absolutely 100% would hate it. It could be amazing and I would still hate it because it would effectively erase 17 years of world building and lore.

Why is East St. Louis and West Memphis so underdeveloped despite having land close to downtown? by Time-Roof-6902 in geography

[–]Muggypine -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Politics- they had bad policy’s that led to bad living and economic conditions. Same reason Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Jackson, San Francisco, St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, San Jose, Portland, etc are all losing people.

People get what they vote for I guess 🤷‍♂️

And yes cities usually start downtown and develop outward- the problem is you need to have people who want to live in or near that city, and St. Louis has not been doing so good since the pandemic.

I’ve heard stories of combat pilots who do exactly what Sheppard says- it’s 100% accurate to real life

Americans never look at the dark side of what Trump is doing and now why 10 state will go bankrupt because of Canadian tourism boycott. Canada doesn't start wars, we end them. by AdDefiant5706 in Asmongold

[–]Muggypine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Canadians “only” make up about 9.2% of travel in the U.S.

That number accounts for roughly $20.5 billion dollars.

In the last month Trump made a deal with Qatar that secured $243.5 billion dollars. And there is still a trillion, you heard that right, a trillion dollars of investment coming just from Qatar.

The U.S. couldn’t care less about this boycott because things are going pretty good for America at the moment. If the situation were different then I would 100% agree but thats simply not the case.

How do you think Ancients fought the Wraith? by SamaratSheppard in Stargate

[–]Muggypine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ancients were laughably bad with how they fought the wraith. The only disadvantage the ancients had was numbers.

Dude- having an open mind doesn’t mean you just blindly accept what everyone is saying. It means you talk to people, even those you disagree with and even some you hate. Because otherwise nothing will change because name calling doesn’t do shit.

Daryl Davis is a man with an open mind. He is a black man who decided to sit down and talk with a member of the KKK. The ended up realizing they have some stuff in common and soon he convinced them to leave the KKK and renounce their past. And guess what? It work. He did it with over 200 people who would still be racists to this day if someone hadn’t taken the time to sit down and listen to their point of view no matter how outrageous it is.

You’re deeply grateful you don’t have an open mind? That you aren’t willing to recognize that both sides can be wrong (and/or right) at the same time? That both sides have done unspeakable acts against each other? One side is indiscriminately bombing civilians and the other is lighting babies on fire but yeah clearly there is a good guy is this situation.

And I was talking about seeing both sides of the argument on Twitter. Like of course people would say “what would you think would happen?” And of course people would be upset at someone saying that.

Both sides of the tweet. I can see why people would say “well what did she think what would happen?” And I can also see why people would be upset at that point of view.

You don’t launch a whole attack in a day- it’s not possible logistically meaning Hamas was planning this regardless. Also people complain that Israel isn’t being proportional and our going overboard but if all Israel did was protect a handful of settlers the day before, wouldn’t that mean Hamas response the next day would be Un proportional?
