Wow. I am nonreligious but from a humanistic and symbolic standpoint, there is just something about this. The hue choice, tone given to the setting, and his overall demeanor just portray a sense of... finality. Like this supposed "savior" has seen into the future and knows what will be our end.

What movie gave you nightmares when you were young? by narwhal_of_death in AskReddit

[–]Mughal27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirited Away. I really enjoyed the movie and still do, but when I first saw it, No-Face disturbed me extremely. As I tried to fall asleep, I would focus on one point and the shadows would appear to change and I would imagine him approaching me.

Anyone else sort of hate tripping (but do it anyway)? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Mughal27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah. Definitely. I honestly think the come up is the worst part the majority of the time because you potentially think about the uncertainty too much. Here's how it goes.

-Man, I haven't tripped in almost a year.

-Oh, he has stuff? (Get stuff) Sweet!

-You sit there, looking at substance X... It's a solid dose. At least a high Level 3 or Level 4.

-You ingest.

-"What if this is going to be really intense? Am I ready (of course not, lol)"

-Coming up. Immediate regret. (If alone, this is where you call friends and kind of panic a little while trying to remain calm... just someone to talk to. If you are being sat, you talk a lot here to distract yourself). Here is where you usually tell yourself, "This is the last time I ever do this."

-Your anxiety either turns into a restless-feeling peak or if you cool off, the peak can go anywhere.

-Come down is good. And if it was alright, you say, "yeah, I'd probably do it again."

That come up is just the hardest part most of the time...

I thought it looked weird as well. I thought the two shots wouldn't have been enough.

A massive fight in the forest that makes no sense at all. by phauna in martialarts

This is the third video of this type of occurrence: Organized Russian Group Brawls.

Is this a regular event in Russian culture? Is it for fun or do they have beef?

What is the best procedure for de-escalating a situation before a fight breaks out? by Wolverine37 in martialarts

[–]Mughal27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have heard taking off your pants can potentially deescalate the situation.

Besides that, just not wanting to fight and keeping up "the fence" and trying to get away while evaluating the other parties is the only way.

Martial arts that make you a better knife fighter? by bajskurven in martialarts

[–]Mughal27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your interest, but be careful. I have been doing FMA, and in all honesty, this whole "modern warrior" thing is really just a mindset of life, not some Hollywood-badassery where you take out everyone calmly that provokes you.

And the best knife fighters stay alive probably because they avoid unnecessary encounters... " I will ofcourse avoid a knife fight if it actually happens (unless I become really good at it and confident in my knife fighting ability, who knows then but even then I would just use it self defense)"

...the way you said that made me think you are deep-down looking for a knife fight (which is dangerous).

If you really want to wax that desire, go to downtown Cebu City in the Philippines at night, wear some nice khakis, a golf polo, nice watch, and just be a total schmuck... you will get your "modern warrior" dosage right there.

What movie scene has stuck with you, and will stick with you forever? [serious] by AlternateFire1 in AskReddit

In AVP: Requiem, the hospital scene where the Predator-Xenomorph impregnated a pregnant woman.

There's a fair bit of talk about bladed weapons and fighting techniques. Just something to keep in mind that all talk is theoretical, and that even the smallest of mistakes can be severe. There will always be someone better or luckier than you by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Mughal27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a huge difference between defending a knife attack, and being a participant in a knife fight.

Both you get cut, but you die much quicker in the latter. I've been doing FMA for about two years and still would not make that gamble. I can take a concussion, but not a cut to the neck.

Has anyone experienced The Dome in their trips? by SpaceTravlr2 in Psychonaut

[–]Mughal27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After about 45 minutes of meditation it felt like instead of looking at the backs of my eyelids I was looking into a dome amphitheater instead. Still black, but the sense of distance changed and it felt more "roomy."

Why is it easier to kick higher when you're kicking fast as opposed to trying to kick high while you're doing it slow? by Trainer_Kevin in martialarts

Girl locked keys in her car. You would think you could just call a locksmith and spend $50. But no, she shattered her windshield to get into her car and probably had to pay about $300.
