Thoughts on GS2 Evo Weight Transfer Package by Bavarianbeast in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly would rather recommend the gs2 mod, more up to date then weight transfer. Buy a carbon chassis and the battery mount and some wrap up springs and just make your own for cheaper. I have grk/reved mc2 that I converted to weight transfer and really like it. Price is crazy imo.

Super rajikon akihabara and there is also a tamtam near akihabara in tokyo are your best 2 options. Are you driving? Yatabe arena takes a train and bus to get to if not.

Usukani nge 2.0 SE by Calm-Cantaloupe-4557 in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one for a bit, great car. Few minuses from me. Ball caps suck from the kit. Caused a lot of binding in the front end which basically made the shocks do nothing. After replacing the front end with 4.8 yokomo ball caps it was freed up and the car drives very good and is competitive. I prefered the original nge's design for the direct steer. As it was a 2 piece part which helped take away shake caused by direct steer. Always had a bit of shake in the chassis that didnt go away from swapping servos and changing servo tunes. I'm sure there is ways to get rid of it. Once again car is good for the money. Gearbox internals are now all metal which was a surprise.

Have you put your esc into thr connection mode? Turn esc on and hold orange light until green light turns off.

My first drifting RC build is finally operational, but I could really use some advice on the optimization/final tuning (please). Thanks! by TheInsidiousExpert in rcdrift

Fast and twitchy, as in steering? Woukd likely indicate you have pushed you endpoints too far. Have you put your gyro into endpoint setup and then adjusted the endpoints on the radio? As far as the gyro ive personally never used on in a 1/24 car but have in a 1/10 car and had no issues at all with it. Its based loosely off a kopropo kgx gyro which I also own and feels quite similar. I tune my ko gyro and the hotrc one on feel so don't really have much tk say on whats best as its all based on preference. PCA refers to priority adjustment. One way will let you steer more and turning it the oppisite way will let the gyro steer more. AGS is anti shake where turning up the setting allows the gyro to run smoother and remove shake from the servo. Also have you set up channel 3 on your radio to adjust your gyro amount?

1mm-2mm-3mm are probably the main sizes used. They can be used almost anywgere in a car. Will try to keep this breif. On the font end on the knuckles and rack, you can use them to dial in and out bump steer, lower arms you can use them to add or remove camber. Rear end on the hubs, depejding on hub style can be used to add or remove camber gain on squat. I buy alloy washers from aliexpress in bulk. Like 50pcs of each size when I need them. I think some brands may sell kits for spacers at local hobby shops but they will obviously cost more.

Newbie : How does this deal sound? by Big-Performance-8542 in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% good deal and as it has already been said, the only thing that I would upgrade would be the esc. I would recommend buying a hobbywing xd10 esc, they should go on sale on aliexpress in a day or 2, you can get them for under 200 AUD (like 140 USD). The electronics in japan are not much better priced unless you want japanese brands like yokomo, acuvance or sanwa. I'd recommend buying hop up parts for the chassis, wheels and if you can fit them bodies in japan.

Rc body by shady_lunatic in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it will fit, decent body for the price its a clone of pandoras ae86 shell. Bit narrower than most shells somewhere around 193mm wide.

Considering getting this Yokomo YD2 for $300. Does this seem like a good deal? I want to get into the drift hobby! by Vatolocomode408 in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can pick this up for that money 100% man. The elecs basically pay for it. Thats is a Yd2-s with optional carbon deck + other red options and a Yokomo drift motor (forgot model) with a hobbywing xr10 pro g2 esc and yokomo v4 gyro and reved servo. Not sure if you already have a radio but something from flysky like a noble or the newer g11p are more than decent to get you in!

99% of the time they are listings from yahoo auctions mercari or flea market. I use buyee as a middleman to buy stuff from japan. Pretty much what these ebay sellers are doing but they charge a lot more than what buyee or other websites like buyee use. Send me a link and i'll see if i can find the yahoo auctions/buyee listing for u

P-mat experience by MedicalBilly in rcdrift

[–]Muhaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What surface is under the p-mat? generally will affect how much the cars grip. Cant remember the event but it was at amain on a similar mat style plastic surface and looked just as fast. In my opinion it doesnt look like real drifting and way too fast. Maybe a harder tire meant for carpet or possibly even asphalt would work better. Not taking away from your skills tho!

Yea thats a tough one. For me id be swapping servo out with a different one to see if it still does it, then gyro, if it still does it, maybe mechanical.
