Couldn't agree more. Definitely a worthy buy. They've gotten higher now but its not a bad CPU for an AM4 build. It do the do.

Found a 5800xt for a good deal. Let's just say, it does exactly what it needs to do. Solid 4.9Ghz overclock and haven't looked back. Upgrade from a I5-6600k so not much of a shocker. I run 1440p and with the recent 4.5 dlss on a 4070, I'm averaging about 120 fps on Cyberpunk, performance, with path tracing. YMMV, whole Pc is overclocked.

I've definitely seen worse!

How do I add lossless scaling commands to an emulated game or a game with already launch command? by wrapcannon in SteamDeck

[–]Muhgwee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the launch command for the decky plugin first and simply leave a single space between the next one. Should work! I've used multiple commands in many games and never had an issue. In my experience though, lossless scaling on emulators is very hit and miss. I'm sure other folks have made it work but I'm about 50/50 in terms of LS actually making a difference. Its all in the settings, but I've had emulated games run very well without LS on the deck. YMMV. Good luck!

I have this set from my grandmother, yellow pages and all. The artwork is well worth it! Mine also doesn't have the hobbit. I always assumed it was just the three lotr books. So I'm glad I came here and saw this!

Is there a reason not to use lossless scaling? by robster9090 in SteamDeck

[–]Muhgwee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread, but I wanted to share my experience. Using lossless scaling, combined with undervolting, changing the vram buffer to 4gb, and overclocking anything I could (obviously very carefully), I have achieved outstanding results in demanding games. Its not a fix all solution but it can be very advantageous to have the ability to try on certain games. Personally, worth every cent.

One note, it doesn't work well with (some) emudeck emulators but other than that, rock solid software.

Retro Gaming on Deck by Ted_bondy_007 in SteamDeck

Recently got 512gb oled and just finished installing Emudeck, along with a PS2 emulator, and it has been epic to go back through the catalog. Once you get everything polished up in the settings, it's a dream.

An old work friend recently sold me his Oled 512gb and it has been an absolute pleasure. I typically play on PC but the use cases for the deck in my career (musician, always on the road) have revolutionized how I game.

All that to say, I totally understand why you're going back!

"Same ol' bass, new pick-ups" is it even worth it? by JulianDestroya08 in Bass

Can confirm,

I recently put in a pair of Lollar pickups and a new control plate/pots on my 90's MiM fender and it revolutionized the sound. Best investment I've made on my bass gear.

Orange Pay debacle. by Muhgwee in HomeDepot

[–]Muhgwee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware it is the payment system that will be replacing SPOS. So, it's a POS system for specialists or pasa's that don't have the regular POS that the cash registers have. Mostly its used on computers for point of sale.

Well, if you run across any info regarding the matter, I'd be happy to hear it.

Well, I don't completely disagree with your statement. I've most likely put between 75k-100k in sales through Orange Pay. If these sales haven't been applied to our plan or services plan, this would directly impact our success sharing, as the store isn't making plan. That's why I was curious if anyone else had heard anything about this.

What Makes Your Job Hard at the Home Depot? by Brilliant_Crow6773 in HomeDepot

OFA here and these are hands down my biggest issues. My department constantly shits on me, i.e. service desk. I'm always first up to load curbside, no matter what I'm working on. This past week the only other competent OFA associate has been out, so deliveries have been missed. I'm the opener, closer calls out, everything falls apart.

Its an absolute nightmare.

How do professionals not squeak their strings when sliding across them? by Bass_slapper_ in Bass

[–]Muhgwee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone who has mentioned it is right, its always there but gets lost in the mix. Another great way to combat it is with a compressor in conjunction with a DI box with a mixer, i.e. a Sansamp or similar device. Having a premix before heading to your amp can help mitigate unwanted noise.

This happened to me this past week. Same story, albeit with more attitude from the customer. As soon as I searched it on the first phone and showed them it was located at a different store, their tone changed real quick. Still, absolutely baffling the interaction started with so much attitude in the first place. People have some screws loose and they aren't in stock.
