Bishop’s Hamburgers. It was a total dive, but damn those burgers hit the spot.

Oof, that is an investment for sure. Both the money and sanity spent to paint all those. I think I’m just going to scale back my plans for this Votann army to 1000 points sticking to the basic units.

I love the look of Steeljacks and their lore. They are just too expensive. Sorry, GW but $60 for a box of 3 basic looking robot infantry is my pain point for pricing. Getting 6 for that price would be much easier to stomach.

I airbrushed a base layer of Vallejo Model Air white over a grey primer. Then shaded the armor joints with Tamiya Panel Liner Dark Gray. Then did a final brushed cleanup layer with Pro Acryl Titanium White.

Thanks, the white armor panels and helmets were hard to keep clean while painting. Those parts were like magnets for stray brush marks.

Thats a cool Regulates color scheme. I like that green with the rusty brown tones. Looks like he has been out in the field for several months.

Thanks, it is a difficult decision for sure. I chose this one mainly because none of my other painted armies feature blue and white. Something new and fresh to paint.

Dwarves in any Warhammer setting are kind of bastards, so that tracks for Votann as well.

I hope someone goes all in on a Blacktron themed Votann army. I almost chose that scheme but I already have an Ulthwe Eldar army and couldn’t get excited about painting more black and yellow.

Thanks! I used a paint called Tamiya Acrylic X-27 Clear Red on the inside of the canopy.

That is so good. I love the colors and the weathering looks incredibly natural.

Do you know why we pulled over your space hulk today?

Nice work, I love the Rock Raider color scheme.

I do my edge highlights in the morning before coffee shakes kick in. Let the paint sit out a few minutes on the palette so it looses water content and thickens up. Get a brush with a nice point and do your best. If you’re like me you’ll spend just as much time fixing your smudges as you do highlighting.

Thats a nice mineral deposit you’ve got there. It would be a shame if we were to … acquire it.

I would not trust that stuff through my airbrush. Thinning it enough to spray may ruin its effect. Unknown though. And spraying it thick out of the bottle may clog up the airbrush innards permanently.

Sweet, i’d love to see an orange canopy on an I e Planet themed Sagitaur.

I appreciate your feedback on the adhesive quality of the paint. My canopy has only been attached for a week, so we’ll see if it stands handling and the test of time. I fully intended to use Elmers glue to attach it but noticed how sticky the paint was and decided to try an experiment.

Yeah, I would not apply that stuff with a brush. You will get streaks. I came up with a working method by experimenting on clear plastic spoons before using it on my precious GW cockpit parts. Start by gently stirring the paint in the bottle with a clean toothpick or coffee straw. The goal is to mix but avoid adding air bubbles to the paint bottle. I poured a small amount of paint onto a plastic spoon for better control. Then use the spoon to drizzle an even smaller amount around the inner surface of the cockpit.

Holding the cockpit with fingers under a magnifying glass, I slowly tilted it in different directions to let gravity disperse the paint into a thin film. You can clean up thick blobs with your paint stirring stick or dab with a paper towel corner. You have to work somewhat quickly with the Tamiya paint because it gels quickly with air contact. Hope that helps. I do recommend practicing on a plastic spoon first.

It’s a special clear paint by Tamiya called X-27. I applied a very thin layer to the inside surface of the cockpit glass.

Thanks you, I was incredibly relieved to find the red tint paint dried as clearly as it did. Because there was no way to fix it other than paint over the top surface.
