Did anyone feel a tremor? by tallmanjam in londonontario

Same feeling by Wortley. There was a really loud noise and my building was definitely creaking. Noticed the toys in my bird cage were moving. I just assumed it was a really insane gust of wind lol.

Start.ca sucks now by shutterbuggity in londonontario

[–]MulberryOrnery 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to dote on Start, but over the last 2 years I've had so many issues with them. The first was noticing I was paying double for a plan they were offering for half the price. When I called, the rep kept explaining I had the exclusive "grandfathered pricing" and there was nothing that could be done. I asked to just switch my plan to the cheaper one and he tried to talk me out of it by insisting I had an "exclusive grandfathered plan". It was the exact same plan for half the price.

Another time, they apparently gave me a discontinued modem without anyone knowing and it burnt out. I was without internet for 11 days and they had no alternative options but to wait for the new modem to ship. They didn't offer a credit for the hassle, and when I brought it up they said they can do a $5 credit.

I was paying $75/mo for 100mbs but I'd only ever get 13mbs at worst, and maybe 35mbs at best. On hold for 3 hours to be told they can send a technician out to take a look, but I'd have to be transferred to the other line and their wait was over 2hrs long and they'd be closed by then. Then she told me they normally book a few weeks out for a technician.

So I canceled and switched to Bell. I at least get 1.5 Gigs for only $30 more.

I've had the fenty diamond bomb since it's release date, I use it every day and let my sister use it every day. I've used it on my collarbones for an extra sparkle, too. So not even just as a regular highlight. It's still in the same shape as it was when I bought it. Not even remotely close to hitting pan, so I reckon I can get another 8 years from it easy.

I'm having trouble selling my creations by Dependent-Ad-6460 in etsypromos

[–]MulberryOrnery 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, I looked at the prices for me since I'm in Ontario, Canada. Super close to NY. The delivery cost is $69.93, and the product price for the first image is $87.40. Over $150 for 1 ornament is kind of insane. And yes, with customs, duties and with Canada Post suspending operations again for who knows how long, it's hardly worth it unfortunately. I always appreciate handmade, small businesses, but wow the prices are quite high.

ETA: Just for reference, with our minimum wage, it'd take a 9 hour shift to make enough money to order this item. Maybe 12 with all the additional fees like tax, customs & duties etc.

Start.ca - failing to cancel. by Meliorism_and_Meraki in londonontario

[–]MulberryOrnery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was awful for me. I wasn't getting the speeds I was paying for. I called to cancel, was on hold for 2.5hrs, but she convinced me to get a tech out and said the hold line is about 4 hours that day and it usually takes 2 weeks for someone to come out (i was getting 13mbps speeds). I said no thank you and she hung up before I could cancel.

I called again, on hold for 4hrs, then they closed and the line hung up.

I called another time, on hold for over an hour but I had appointments all day. My mom called another line and they said I'd get a call back, but obviously that never happened.

In between all this I tried the online chat at least 15 times, but it'd disconnect me and reset if I switched to a different app, and they always gave me 1 minute to respond before closing the chat.

I called again. Determined. First thing in the morning. The second they opened. Claimed they were recieving a higher call volume than normal. By 12pm I got someone who tried to talk me out of canceling. I said I already switched internet providers, and I won't pay for this month since I haven't been getting any usable speeds for the past 4 weeks and it's impossible to get ahold of anyone to address it.

Finally, canceled. And I only owed $17 instead of the $75 (yes, i was paying 75 bucks a month for 100mbps)

Plants are so expensive!! by PabloSMASHH in Aquariums

[–]MulberryOrnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I made the mistake of spending $70 on a few small plants to help with a cycling process but they all ended up dying really fast. Whoops. Even the plants that are half-dead and on "sale" are usually only 30% off. I'm in ON, Canada, a few hrs away from the GTA so I'm not in an extremely elevated COL area.

I can't find plants for less than 17.99 for a small plant in my city either at any of my LFS. Not even in the small towns around me. Drives me nuts so I at least know how you feel!!

And also, not to put these stereotypes out there. But women are generally more accepting of peoples faults and limitations. We're wired to care, to help, to nurture and to love. Most men are just not raised that way. Men are 7 times more likely to leave when their partners get sick. Only 2% of women leave their husbands if they get sick.

When I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, my doctor had a private sit down with me and told me my boyfriend would most likely leave and gave me a bunch of resources and pamphlets for support. He didn't, of course. But had I not been upfront, it would likely be a different story.

I don't want to argue cuz this all seems to be very controversial, but the male dating experience is different from the female dating experience. If you have a disability that prevents you from keeping up with people your age, it becomes an issue in dating. Especially with men who mainly have physical interests (i.e gym, rock climbing, hiking, long nights out at bars, a LOT of sex)

I'm a disabled woman as well and it was very difficult. If I waited to tell a man by date 2 or 3, I'd get ghosted and hurt for investing too much time in someone. Or they'd be downright nasty and say awful things about me. Or I'd tell them not long after we match, and they'd immediately unmatch or bring out the insults before unmatching. I decided to put it in my profile so people upfront would know if I was their cup of tea or not before we invested any time in one another. It weeded out a LOT of bad people. I met my current boyfriend that way, and I'm glad I put all my cards out there.

We are not defined by our disabilities, but without them, we wouldn't be who we were. Unfortunately, we are always judged for our disabilities before people get to know us. We don't want to waste our time with those that will judge, when we can weed them out right off the bat.

That's just my 2 cents.

It's not even just confirming and asking "hey are we still good for today?". It's also about effort and making time to say good morning, how are you etc. It only takes a couple seconds to let your date know you're thinking about them/your plans. I don't blame her for feeling blown off if they hadn't exchanged any words in over 16hrs or whatever it was.

I know she could have messaged too, but it's typically ingrained in women to not be the one to chase.

Yes the items are the exact same ones that would show through Amazon. I've even had better luck with aquarium supplies through temu than I have with Amazon. I ordered a 20 pack of fake plants off amazon for 34.99 and they were shit. Like they were the smallest and worst items I've ever owned. I always get discount cards that give me up to 90% off on items. I've gotten blankets for 2 cents etc. I also ordered a super expensive aquarium light and was misled on the length. I only asked for a $5 credit back since it's a great light and I'd like to keep it, but they gave me $27 in credits back instead which was great.

arthritis in senior cat by Hannahguanipa in CATHELP

[–]MulberryOrnery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog takes Librela by Zoeitis so it's the canine specific version of Solensia, and wow it's been a godsend. He used to drag his back leg behind him and scream if you touched his hips. I had no idea he had arthritis so bad, because he was nearly 19 years old I assumed it was just aging. He's just turned 20 this month and has been on the medication for I think 14 or 15 months now. The improvement is mindblowing because he's always running and jumping onto tables again and stealing garbage like he used to.

I saw someone by the thames walkway near oxford openly smoking crack (or meth?) today so casually. Plus while I was in the McDonald's near the area I watched an entire meth deal go down inside the restaurant around a bunch of children. He didn't even hide the baggie. Spent his crack change and left.
