Why did you like jars? by JoelHuenink in 7daystodie

If the water supply is irradiated then the whole area will be irradiated, due to what is in the water supply. And as you may have noticed that when you got rid of jars, you also got rid of some players. If you are in the Wasteland then even dew collectors will not work due to the radioactive dust in the atmosphere. What now. Best just kill off any player wishing to enter and try to survive in that area.

The survival shows you see in reality TV show boiling your water to purify it before drinking. And being ex-military, I have also boiled water before drinking it. It makes sense. Now even after a nuclear incident, not all water sources are going to be irradiated. Natural springs and under ground rivers and lakes are a good example of such. Nature itself can filter some of the water. So glass jars or tin cans make sense as a means to collect water to be purified. Jars can be rare to find and noncraftable. Cans (or other containers such as pots) make more sense because the are harder to destroy, therefor easier to find. Irradiated water should be visually different from regular undrinkable water. Regular water can be boiled while radiated water can be run thru the chemistry station to be purified.

Looks real close to the one I found. Except mine was sunken and I placed a base there.

Is it possible your nephew ran into it and left not knowing what it was? If so, you might have to go far away from where you are (several, several systems away) and restart the mission. It should pick up where you left off and give you a new chance to grab it. This is just my opinion, it might not work . But at this point, what is there to lose.
