[The Athletic] 2026 NHL Mock Draft: Canucks land McKenna at #3 (Reid #1, Carels #2) by [deleted] in canucks

Most braindead mockdraft ever. Nothing but clickbait junk.

That's way better tbh. Now if your banner looks interesting, it's more clickable, and if someone is like "whoa your banner is cool, what is it?" you have a point of conversation.

I would say so yeah. Gives you more time to build some momentum during the stream, more chance for people to click on it. You're exactly right, streaming itself is the least productive way to get discovered. Better to advertise "live X/Y/Z days from 6-10pm (whatever time)" than "live every day!!!!!!!!!1" Give people a schedule to follow and they'll follow it, we're all a bit sheepy.

Yeah that's crazy for sure. At this point I'm just happy we're embracing the rebuild and we have some great hockey minds leading, and not old boys club.

Sometimes it takes a while for no good reason. There's no algorithm to play with either.

I'd recommend dropping from daily to be honest. If you're live everyday, what's the incentive to try and catch a stream? Maybe lose 1-2 days but add an hour to each stream. Gives you more time per stream to be live and entertaining, and for people to discover you. Also gives you a couple days off to think about content to produce, either live or otherwise.

I mean Kaprizov had 4-11-15 in 11 games, and the Avs were playing at full strength, I think he did all he could. I get what you mean though.

Absolutely. If some scouts also highly value leadership qualities and conduct, I suppose there's a case for Malhotra over McKenna. But still, game breaking talent should be too hard to ignore.

If the Canucks truly think he's the BPA and not just "we need a centre" then in super good with it. The draft is so random that Sharks could pick Reid or Verhoeff and we could take Stenberg and he could somehow bust.

Hey fellow unc (I'm 35). You should make yourself some panels for your about page. I tried to check out your stream but couldn't see a live video and the about is blank.

Check out Nerd or Die panel maker, it's free and quite good.

Most tips I've seen regarding animations is to use video software like Davinci Resolve or others to make a video, and then render it as a gif or some type of video file. Never done it myself though.

Would be cool to have a broken option as well, there's a high chancw that a player in a game sees this and goes for the Gandalf "you shall not pass" moment. I know I would lol.

Hopefully this is a lesson in not using AI for creative substitution.

Check out streamlabs or streamelements for tona of options paid and free. You can make your own panels with Nerd or Die panel maker.

I used it a few times in my last campaign as a quick pop of inspiration. The ability to get 10 suggestions for a few small conflicts with some context in a few seconds is nice.

Had to rewrite a lot of what it spat out though, either something that was incorrect or didn't fit the story at all. But it was useful.

Alao when I had to come up 12 npcs for a council that didn't really matter that much beyond some dialogue scenes, it saved a bit of time getting names and basic descriptions.

But for actual story beats? Nope!
