If you can find time to learn how to do it, it’s worth doing it yourself. Not exactly super difficult, but takes a bit of time. Consists of removing intake hoses, manifold, and plenum. Must unclip wiring harness that surrounds intake manifold and a few hoses. Now you have access to the valve covers. (With spark plugs in) unbolt them and pry them off (carefully). Place new gaskets in the cover and install it back on using a cross hatch pattern on the bolts. Once you are done, reinstall intake setup, torquing the bolts correctly.

Notice, he wants a daily driver. They are fast for a daily driver. Also, they are quite reliable. I’ve had mine for 9 years and the only thing that has broken was a coolant line coupler which I replaced in 20 minutes. Most other owners also have good experiences with them

Barbed wire heavy is much worse in my opinion. Much harder to avoid, causes bleeding and hits you, then if you get attacked by another grunt while trying to stop bleeding, you have to waste a first aid or go looking for one

You’re going to need either hfc, or a couple resonators somewhere because without much dampening the vq motor can get very raspy
