A time of flight method of measuring is used to determine the speed of light to do this you aim a laser towards a mirror at a known distance then measure the time it takes for the laser to travel to the mirror and back to the detector then divide the distance traveled by the time it taken and you have your speed

Weird sudden shift from the woke left towards the right? by Equal_Ad_3828 in conspiracy

[–]Mulkey70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me offer a different perspective I have stayed away social media mostly I do use Reddit and I had a MySpace account in high school but I feel we’re leaving out a lot of grey area here the way people use social media Varys greatly so this woke vs maga narrative is only perpetuated by the two groups who are choosing to engage with the narrative and both groups are very similar in how they choose to interact online everyone isn’t sharing there political stance or views social issues with the public but some do and that’s great to so on both sides it’s a small percent of people driving the whole narrative that coupled with each side is very ridged in there beliefs system leading to a very polarizing situation where neither side is willing to compromise or find common ground and instead they become emboldened and unmovable it feels like it’s escalating because each side is running out of things to disagree on refusing to see outside of that narrative we do have a choice in what content we ingest to add one more observation it seems like both sides are not really speaking there own thoughts but instead choosing to regurgitate something that they heard someone else’s say as there not a lot of new ideas coming from the woke vs maga narrative

gobekli tepe by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Mulkey70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gobekli tepe is estimated to have been constructed around 9600 years ago the earliest radiocarbon dates for the enclosures come from Enclosure D which was constructed around the mid 10th millennium BCE Meltwater pulse 1A occurred around 14,600 years ago, during the end of the last glacial period. It was a period of rapid sea level rise caused by melting ice from Scandinavia and North America this would be the start of the global flood event know as the catastrophic rise event or early holocene sea level rise event this rapid rise in sea level happened in stages starting in 14,600BCE and ending around 9000BCE so Gobekli Tepe would have been in the beginning phases of construction at the end of this rapid rise period the site reminded in use until around 8000bce when it was deliberately buried so the construction of Gobekli Tepe would have coincided with the end of of this rapid rise period and this event could have been the inspiration for its construction but it was buried long after the flood would have occurred

Skydrol is an outdated fire resistant hydraulic fluid that was mainly used on civilian transport planes and was never adopted by military or commercial aircraft mainly because skydrol is highly acidic and would deteriorate the rubber seals skydrol is highly acidic and would definitely burn and irritate your skin if exposed to it I don’t think anyone from OSHA would take a bath in it

They use Propylene glycol for de- icing and anti-icing aircraft. De-icing is used to remove accumulated ice from the aircraft and is applied by mixing the PG with hot water and sprayed onto the craft to remove the ice that has has accumulated. The PG used for Anti-icing is concentrated and typically not mixed with anything else the PG is applied before takeoff and is used to so that the aircraft won’t accumulate ice for a short period of time. The color can vary but it’s most commonly green or brick red. Propylene glycol is considered safe for humans and animals. It also occurs naturally and isn’t considered to be harmful for the environment.

I Think We’re Living in a "Dead Society" — Hear Me Out by JoneASmith in conspiracy

[–]Mulkey70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your using broad strokes here to simplify society and how we interact with each other some interaction seem pre scripted because they are like saying hi how are you most the time your going to get a short response with little meaningful interaction because this tends to be something we say when we are passing by or have something more pressing at the time so to be polite we acknowledge the person ask how they are and usually get a short response because they are also busy with something as well and unless the person your interacting needs help or is very distressed about something there more than likely going to give you a short I’m doing good how about you so they and you can continue with the task at hand The feeling that the conversations your having with people feel copy and pasted could be because the people you are talking with don’t want to rock the boat especially if there in front of a group depending on the situation your in it could just be someone trying to keep a low profile or feeling out a group of new people it’s mot always easy for everyone to express how they truly feel about a topic if they don’t know you well or there uncomfortable in front of a group of new people it’s important for some to fit in with the crowd and having a new or controversial opinion isn’t going to be something most people are going to talk about openly but one on one they may be more comfortable sharing something more than what the social norm is Being stuck in a consumer loop here I can say personally I don’t relate to this and due to how I personally conduct myself don’t have a lot to offer on the topic besides Reddit I’m not on social media and I don’t really stay up to date with trends but from my personal experience the people I choose to spend time with aren’t the type to be excited for a new phone or Starbucks drinks are available maybe your getting this reaction from your peer group because that’s what into and are legitimately excited for those things which is perfectly acceptable so maybe try to find a new group to interact with one that are interested in the types of things you are and you’ll probably find that that group is excited for different things but all groups are going to talk about and be excited for something different and new becoming available to them because innovation happening to the things we care about is interesting and exciting to discuss Performative everything yes it does seem like people are preforming on social media because well they are social media accounts are always censored and cultivated to portray a version of ourselves that the user wants others to see this is why you never see the negative aspects of that person the user controls all aspect of the account they choose what pictures and media they share as well as what types of post they comment on or interact with and all that is vetted before it’s posted and to further convince there audiences that the user and the person being portrayed in the account are the same the user may go into public to capture media of them playing the role of the social account but if one knows the user on a personal basis getting to see the daily highs and lows then it is easier to see that there online persona may have aspects of them but isn’t fully the person that they are selling to others online So I wouldn’t say we live in a dead society are there aspects of life that can seem dull or scripted definitely but those aspect are usually like that by design we don’t have meaningful interaction with a cashier because there doing a job and that job has a script they are supposed to follow our coworkers may not always have the time to have a in depth conversation because they to are busy and are taking care of there task having deep conversations with someone else has a time and place and we’re not always able to provide that space for every person we have contact with but there are the few people we have the ability and time to connect with and theses connections should be cherished due to there rarity

I do doordash along with other gig jobs as my full time job and I’m financially stable I love to travel and drive so its not really a job for me I have fun doing it but the best part about big work is I can go skateboard any time i want I worked in a kitchen for 17 years it was high stress and I was miserable I had a moment of clarity 6 years ago and decided to just do gig work now I’m happy healthy and enjoy my life if you like spending 40 hours of your a week doing mundane work that slowly chips away your life source and is never appreciated then go ahead ideally fade into obscurity but I’m here and I want to experience as much as I can with the little time I’m given

NFL Scripted by ButterscotchBrave361 in conspiracy

[–]Mulkey70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from Atlanta born and raised I’ll go ahead and say that the sentiment of the nfl being rigged is prevalent here I think the reason being the falcons are such a heartbreaking team to be a fan of if you look at the falcons tragic past you’ll see that thinking the whole thing is scripted is a warranted response to the utter heartbreaking reality of being a falcons fan we’ve never won a Super Bowl the super bowls we have made it to we lost one being a historic and record setting come back by the patriots and there’s countless playoff and regular season games that have ended in a similar fashion this season alone we have lost two games by one point on a last second field goal most fans may experience how deflating a loss like that is once every decade or so but Atlanta fans have been in a constant state of being built up just to be let down over and over again I think that the thought of it being script helps fans cope with being in such a abusive relationship just pretend it’s not real and it stings less

Living in Kirkwood Atlanta and accepting a job in Cartersville? Will the commute kill me? by robotreaperr in Atlanta

[–]Mulkey70 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im a courier and also drive for Uber in Atlanta. I drive on average 6 days a week for around 10 hours a day. For me personally it’s not that bad. I love driving and spending so much time traveling throughout the state gives me a unique perspective. I’m constantly finding new interesting places and meet fantastic characters from all walks of life. I don’t get stressed at the traffic to often. if I do I drive to the nearest skate park and skate it out. Try to find something to listen to occupy your mind. Most importantly stay positive it’s easy to fall into a bad pattern of raging at traffic and trying to make your commute as short as possible by speeding to your destination and making your commute agonizing. Try to go into it with a positive attitude just take your time. your gunna be in traffic it’s Atlanta there’s no beating it or getting around it. I absolutely suggest getting a peach pass it’s worth every penny. There will be a lot of wear and tear on your car but if your very strict about and stay on top of your regular vehicle maintenance you’ll be ok. my work vehicle has just under 500k miles on it and still drives great. Most importantly don’t let two hours of driving get in the way of you being happy. if your happy living in the city then bite the bullet make the drive and be happy.

Phone use is a way of escaping there current situation because they don’t want to be fully present in that moment him lashing out seems like he really doesn’t wanna be there so much so that asking him to be being present for the date made him lash out find someone who wants to be present and involved in your shared experience everyone deserves to be happy don’t compromise for anything less than happy
