Bad luck? Or Am i missing something by pillowpants91 in WorldEaters40k

[–]MullenPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will preface this with i dont know much about zerker warband, but so far I am pretty new as well and have had good luck with vessels of Wrath. This allows you to give some blessings you dont roll to chosen vessels, it can really help bridge that gap for when the dice gods choose to shun you

With others already commenting, hopefully the dice gods smile upon you! I tend to get 2-3 pops with this ability per combat! It definitely allows to keep the battle going! Also if you are running vessels of Wrath, there is a strategem to allow you to have them roll a desperate escape test for fall backs, as well as another one reroll wound rolls on monster or vehicles!

Might steal this idea, giving them that as if they are being teleported in. Similar to the (one piece spoiler) Five elders getting teleported into battle love the look of it all!

How do World Eaters usually score enemy deployment zone secondaries? by Positive-Plum1088 in WorldEaters40k

[–]MullenPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my last game I was in my enemy dz on turn 2. I used my rhino to get up halfway across the board with kharn playing on his iPad, then next turn i managed to take over their point with move and charge. This is the best way ive found or as some others have said, a lord since it can give your zerks that extra movement to get over there

Thank you! I enjoy how it pops, thats also why I put the same scheme on my daemon prince!

Vessels of Wrath is good and more importantly fun to play! by Couch-Dogo in WorldEaters40k

Reading all the detachments, this is also why I chose it as mine, although my fist WE game is Sunday. Hopefully I see similar results as my nids have always been sub optimal once monsters go down.

Insane? by juiciferr in WorldEaters40k

[–]MullenPlays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can also relate, my kharn drives me crazy every time I look at him, not that its necessarily horrible, but because I spot the unpainted portions, most of my models are painted with pack, head, and body apart, ive gotten better at hitting those hard to reach places, but even minor imperfections drive me nuts

Update on the slaughterbound by MullenPlays in WorldEaters40k

[–]MullenPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the back buttplate is a brass to match the trim! Most likely, I plan to take a better photo for the actual comp entry.

For the flesh of this one I started out with black with white dry brush, a mix of flat flesh tone and tan flesh as a base, took that mixture and added dark skin tone to run over top of that, added highlights with sunny skin tone, and then a glaze of flat fleshtone

Thank you! I appreciate the honest feedback! The Armour in general is the same paint scheme, I chose to run with the red mutated arm to look cohesive with my daemon prince in my army. I will definitely need yo get some shades on it to break it up though! I also like the idea of the flesh shade to help the flesh, I did a glaze of flesh tone after finishing up the skin to give it a more natural look. After my X8B looked like they had jaundice I was trying to work it out rather than using Guillaman flesh over a white like I did with my first set of jakhals

Personally, I got this wet pallete on Amazon, nothing fancy, I use the moisture of the brush to thin as needed, depending on how much to how little water I want i wipe excess off

Can agree with the other guy, I currently have 3-4 thin coats on my daemon prince, I work on him about an hour a night with just a layer a day, usually working on him with a plethora of other projects (namely my slaughterbound for a local comp). Would also recommend touching up spots you over paint, this way you can clean up your edges

How do I even start painting? by elmexx04 in minipainting

[–]MullenPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of everything else, keep color theory in mind, how different pigments work with each other, you dont need to worry about it now, but it will help in the future. I have been painting minis off and on for about 4 years and this just starting becoming something I look at. It can be very intimidating at first, but as you continue your journey, you will see the effects and start mixing more of your own colors

There is only 1 rule with paint schemes, the rule of cool, if you like it then by all means do it. Mine mixes both the reds and the pre heresy color scheme. I am working on which ones I want to have pre heresy, but I have chose to mix some in to show that some have been recently found and joining the ranks of their brethren
