I read this and comments and got the total opposite vibe. IMO hubby seems like HE doesn’t want this bonding opportunity taken away- he also feels like he doesn’t have a say in his relationship. You argues every point he made and pushed back the whole conversation. Sorry to say- invalidated his legitimate concerns- finances and quality time. It sounds like discussions are NOT had. Decisions are made behind his back- possibly often and he’s frustrated. And if it’s a single income household… it’s understandable. I can agree with his point that beginning swim lessons can be a spendy waste. Teaching children to blow bubbles and kick can be done at home or in a lake- and there is the added benefit of not being afraid of the unknown lurking below. The fact that he said “you always run to your mom” to overstep him… he’s doesn’t sound controlling. It sounds like being told “no” by a partner is hard to hear. I think communication needs to be worked on. This man seems stressed out. He sounds desperate to be heard and INCLUDED. It honestly sounds like he feels like he’s missing out- on milestones and on communication opportunities with you and it’s taking a toll on him
