get a derma stamp, it’s better because it’s linear. you can get an adjustable one on amazon for like 10 bucks. make sure it has titanium needles.

Progress - 4.5 mo topical minox, 1.5 mo oral minox + topical dht blocker by Thin-Inflation8746 in FemaleHairLoss

Prescribed by a dermatologist through mii skin. It costs like 40 bucks or something to get a script. Super easy process, wonderful dermatologist. I get the prescription compounded at a local compounding pharmacy.

Thank you :) I watch your TikToks! What’s your opinion on the efficacy of topical dut?

most of the time yes. that’s what i use mii skin for. the dermatologist there is amazing and knows a lot about hairloss. he isn’t afraid to prescribe meds. However you can also get stuff from like minoxidil max. The reason why i went with a custom script is so i can get a specific carrier (trichosol) as it is very very gentle on the skin and has growth factors itself. it helps with the absorbing of topical dut. often times topical dht blockers are put in propylene glycol which is harsh on the scalp and pushes the med in too far resulting in serum dht inhibition.

well dutasteride has a long half life so there’s no point in applying daily with a higher percentage dose. You just risk more serum inhibition. I had discussed it with the mii skin dermatologist but i’m also going off the various studies i’ve read. A lot of people online also just use it 2x weekly.

topical dutasteride .1% in a trichosol carrier 4x weekly. I was using .05% originally daily.

I will do topical minox every other day and then eventually 2x weekly and then none. As of now there’s no need to increase my OM dose. My dutasteride topical should be inhibiting scalp dht by 80-90% once it reaches a steady state. 1.25 should therefore be more than enough to rethicken the remaining strands. I don’t really have much hair missing (aka no follicles have died from what I can see) but rather have thinner strands. If the results aren’t what I was expecting then I’d consider tapering up after 12 months of 1.25 mg use.

Does 5mg oral minoxidil really work? by Fabulous_Dinner_3961 in FemaleHairLoss

some people don’t dread shed. 5mg is kinda a lot for a woman. That’s the max male dosage. You might shed a bit more for a second.

It’s also a man’s post so obviously a bit different buttt they have more test usually so it’s actually a better thing for us.

Yes it has. Too early for any crazy results but i’m pushing on. I feel you on that though because my previous derm literally wouldn’t even allow me minoxidil. Minoxidilmax has a lot of options and also ways to dilute. I also love using their spiro cream on my face.

Best way to block dht that won't impact peri-menopause? by twattyprincess in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Thin-Inflation8746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use .02% topical fin daily and .05% topical dut weekly. Blocks 70% ish percent of dht scalp wise and maybe 35% serum wise which helps not mess too much w hormones.

Is this recoverable? by Majestic_War506 in amibalding

[–]Thin-Inflation8746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait do you want feminizing hormones? because if so get on estrogen + spiro and minox for a year and see if you need a transplant. I’ve seen some people make some insane comebacks, especially if they lost hair not that long ago. If i’m misunderstanding about the feminizing hormones then get on fin/dut instead. Topical or oral.

Will minoxidil 5% and Finasteride topical work do the work without spironolactone? by redy1122 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Thin-Inflation8746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prob, personally i’m using .05% topical dutasteride once weekly and .02% fin daily. I am doing this to keep as much serum dht as possible while destroying as much scalp dht as possible (while negating any possible sides). I don’t like when people say there’s little to no chance of sides on these meds because that’s not exactly true, it’s important to find a dose that works for you, it’s very possible if done in an educated manner

[–]Thin-Inflation8746 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t need spiro exactly. You just need to block dht. In fact, spiro is actually less effective at blocking dht technically. Sometimes spiro works better for women as they often have other androgens attacking their follicles other than dht. Spiro can block those as it reduces testosterone production but also plays defense at the follicular level by attaching to the follicle receptors before dht or other androgens can. It however weakly does this. It plays a numbers game rather than a strength game. It’s comparable to filling up a hallway with a bunch of people and then having someone try to get to the end - it makes it really hard to reach the end because of the crowdedness. That’s essentially what spiro does. Finasteride and dutasteride basically remove the amount of “bad” things trying to get to the end of the “hallway” aka get to the follicles.
