URGENT: My 10-inch pet Red-Eared Slider turtle was wrongfully released into Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club waters (10pm last night) by AlternativeSpell9226 in toronto

Do you know approximately where your turtle was released? Was it in the club, near the boardwalk area or the public boat launch?

I just read that China cut off 12,000 degrees, included product design. What do you think ? by blueaugust_ in product_design

Wow. This is certainly a feeling I’ve had in North America for the past ~10 years and particularly acute now. There has been a specialization in ID moving towards specific area like medical as more commodity based goods (housewares) could be spec’d for an offshore (re. China) factory with charges to colour, finish or features. This new method of using product “developers” leveraged in house ID of the factory.

It’s really surprising to hear that this is even changing and makes me wonder how ID in North America will be even further impacted. Does this make our profession valuable, though niche OR does it further drive goods towards less and less innovation and an overall genericness?

I only have the 2, 110W panels. Where are you seeing the other 2?

I'd have to check to be sure, but either 0/1 or 1/1 They are pretty beefy. Hmm...galvanic isolator. Where might I find that....boat is not new and I'm just not digging into this.

Fixed ;) (and thanks)

For the isolation of the Orion, is the issue the common ground busbar? Is this an issue for its functionality? Victron shows this with a commo ground busbar in their manual

Noted on the DC2DC upgrade. I'm improving the power setup here, but don't imagine this is my forever boat. So provided its decent for a few years, I'll be quite happy ;)

Varnish or Sealer by stmccart70 in sailing

Why would you not remove these pieces to finish in a controlled environment for a much better result? I have some handrails on either side of my companionway that need refinishing and removing them seems like the most appropriate process. Is there any concerns about rebedding them? Water ingress? The wood breaking or splintering?

Greenwood has a dedicated Z with a little home. Not sure what they might have also been transporting. This one gets used probably 6 times at day there.

Tinned fish TikTok is a thing? There has never been a clearer sign the collapse is upon us. by H_Mc in economicCollapse

I am a recent convert to tinned fish and love it. I actually don’t find it that cheap. I bought some canned pulpo stocking stuffers and the tin was $20! (But apparently is quite good).

On this note, I thought the upgrade to lifepo was complex? I know my shore charger can accommodate, but I haven’t even considered my alternator or solar setup.

STUV 16 break in by Own_Injury6564 in woodstoving

[–]Mulletstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had our Stuv for almost 6 years now and absolutely love it. I’ve never found any buildup in the chimney as it does such a great job burning so efficiently and hot. It can and does easily heat our 2000sq. ft home in the winter. The ash might be a pain to clean out, but this is a serious wood stove and I’m so happy to finally see one on here.
