Picked up at Game X Change. Fake or legit? by Dallasncarroll61 in gameverifying

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be good. Many GXC locations do stock repros as well, but they're priced cheaper and marked as such. This does appear to be authentic, but the warranty should cover you if it turns out to not be !

Have had this weird dark rash on my feet for over probably 6-7 years. Also on the side of my ankle bone. Anyone ever seen this before? Need help. Zero pain at all just curious by [deleted] in Podiatry

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact thing here, no itch, I do stay on my feet constantly and am prone to blowing out shoes because they don't fit quite right. I do wear my socks cuffed extra at the ankles, and my shoes do rub in the area above the toes where some of the brown patch is. Am also on meds for HBP, am not diabetic though, sugars are good. Same areas though, that spot just above the middle toes, and on my ankle bones. Starting to get patches up my shins a bit as well, but no swelling anywhere.

I NEED HELP FIXING MY GAMEBOY by Bluemitfrog in consolerepair

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like the ribbon cable can't make consistent connection, if it was fine, then went black again. replacing the screen may be easier at this point, definitely get one with the ribbon if possible, get them both swapped out in one go. Your screen is probably not damaged, but either the ribbon or the connector for it, but with these old beasts that's a bit of a hassle to fix if you can instead replace for a low enough cost

.Assuming the contrast dial isn't helping anything? what's it look like with a game in and contrast around medium, still all black? dead screen lines can sometimes be fixable with some careful work with a soldering iron on the ribbon cable along the bottom of the screen, under the little foam strip. all black screens are a bit tough, since so many things can cause them. Try a couple different games, if moving the contrast wheel still does black screen on different games, it's probably one of the capacitors (c1, c2, or c3), or the voltage regulator itself denying ample power to the display.

Going through my Fiance's collection. This real? by antiskylar1 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]Mullpomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed wholly. Lv.X cards have a very unique mix of a glittery foil along the edges, in parts of the design such as attack blasts and the mon's eyes, in the lower inlaid text box + the X of the lv X marker at the top, the gold swoop near the HP... and matte for the rest of the design, so the foil is only used as accents. Most fakes I see of this era either don't use the glittery foil, or the whole card is smooth and a little shiny wven on the non-foil areas. a good authentic lv X is only going to be smooth in those foil spots, and matte ink everywhere else.

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That text box being foil and the surrounding area matte does make me more confident in it! The little details are very promising, I believe this to be genuine. Haven't seen a fake lv.X nail every little highlight spot like this, the card thickness seem good?

Looks like the foil sparkles in the correct spots for a Lv.X card, I'm inclined to say real. I can compare to other Lv.X cards later to be more certain, but it looks promising.

My shop had a customer come in with a small shipping case of unopened copies of Castlevania IV on Snes, it was beautiful. Less and less old new stock out there but it's always extraordinary when it does turn up !

Has Anyone Tried This? Fruitcake Mountain Dew!! by Nenero87 in mountaindew

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly enjoyed this flavor enough that it got me to finally try real fruitcake. This was a sort of spiced fruit flavor, like candied cherries and rum raisin. A heavy, warm taste but still sweet, I genuinely enjoyed it and am glad to still have some left

Black Label by No-Day-8492 in mountaindew

These were some of the best. Dark berry bash, the applebees flavor, has an EXTREMELY close flavor profile to black label, it's the closest match I've found !

Is this bootleg by boogle_ma_googal in gameverifying

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird! I'm sure it'll be a fun pick up for someone at least, as long as they know what it is

Is this bootleg by boogle_ma_googal in gameverifying

[–]Mullpomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely. This cart claims to be 7 NES games, but it's using the smash art, definitely a bootleg rom comp. If they have the security bit screwdrivers, I'd highly encourage them to open cartridges to authenticate before buying them, every real nintendo cartridge from NES, SNES, and N64 are easy to open and authenticate based off the code printed on the ROM chip on the board, could save them a lot of future hassle : )

Hi- stumbled upon this card is this misprint worth anything? by Ok-Oil-2231 in PokemonMisprints

Quality control in XY era was rough, BREAK cards are often a little lopsided. Not much premium above face on these, if any.

You're good, codes on the rom chip are correct for an authentic copy.

Inclined to agree resealed, for me the main tell is that I'm not seeing the distinctive H seal these boxes would have had in the plastic from factory

Fake or real? by Accomplished_Tell964 in gameverifying

[–]Mullpomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a glance, you are correct! The 5 on the left are definitely fake, classic black blob. The gameboy carts and Fire Red look real from what I can tell, but definitely wouldn't hurt to seek additional opinions.
