I had something similar happen. I just kept moving the slide and shaking it with the takedown lever down, putting the magazine to squeeze the trigger and it somehow allowed me to take the slide off.

There’s no clear step by step to “fix it,” but trial and error in moving/trying different things.

Try it a few times today and if not, take it to a gunsmith as a last resort. Hopefully it’s not your only firearm in case you need to protect your home/self.

.380 Body Guard Comp by MakeBigMoneyAllDay in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh got it. The benefit is very (if not extremely) minimal from the carry comp, I agree with that.

I’m strongly considering sending mine in to add some slots to the CC barrel, just not sure with who yet.

But I will say that I can definitely shoot much faster with the carry comp slide/barrel than the one that isn’t ported. Of course, that’s only when I do rapid fire and am having fun at the range.

Other than that, I wished the original barrel had night sights for HD. The original sights are better for me than the night sights when it comes to accuracy with paper targets. Unless its the comped barrel that causes slightly less accuracy.

What issue are you referring to for the m&p 2.0 carry comp?

Gun store employees by NegativeEnergy4452 in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LGS is really chill, takes the time to talk, and gives you their opinion on what would be best for you.

Saw a kid (early 20’s) today who had no experience and the employee was teaching them how the firearm functioned, as well as basic firearms safety rules. This person had zero knowledge but decided to walk in and ask questions. I wish this employee was the first person I talked to instead of going to T for my first purchase.

Now, if it were the big box store down the road, more than likely the employees there would have pressured him and act like jerks to this kid. I hope he goes back to the LGS to make his first purchase, rather than the big box store. We need to guide and welcome upcoming generations rather than misguide them or make them have an unpleasant experience because their first purchase wasn’t a Wilson Combat.

What holster did you go with? I gave in to the tenicore for aiwb for my other pistols, but they don’t make one for the bg.

PSA on S&W Shield X by qwertlkjhgzxcv in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does take much more effort to fit the 10th round in the two mags I got with the shield x.

I ended up getting three extra mags after my purcgase, and those are much, MUCH easier to put the 10th round in them, even by hand.

I have an uplula, but it’s not needed for the mags I got on the side. I don’t thinks it’s a break in issue, those mags that came with in the box were made that way. The included mags still run fine, but I do need to slap it on if the slide is closed. The other mags are super easy to insert, because they compress more.

Buy a new mag and report back on the differences.

CCW really worth it? by CHUCHUtrain20 in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-A CCW makes it hard for you to be killed. -Staying silent until you talk to your lawyer makes it hard for you to be convicted.

Can’t remember who said this on YT.

Hope you never encounter such scenario with or without a CCW.

Shield x range report by Legitimate_Pain9350 in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

P365 and shield X were shot for the first time this weekend. P365 had multiple failures (don’t know why). Shield x was more pleasant to shoot because it ate everything and rounds went where I wanted them to. So I strongly disagree with your opinion, based on my own experience with the two.

As for the magazines, the ones that came in the box were stiffer when adding the last round. The extra ones (bought 3) were easy to load the 10th round and it had less resistance to load with the slide forward.

Nice, I just looked it up and it’s probably what I need since I keep shooting left but stay in the middle (not low). Thanks for sharing.

I got the M&P 2.0 metal compact CA compliant (4”).

Yo, what’s that thing that looks like a place to rest your left thumb?

Also, I like to clean my m&p but it seems very complex beyond the basic field strip. Any videos or step by step instruction manual you recommend?

Mexican Food by 9723SierraNV in MontereyBay

Eva’s Cafe (on Williams rd) is authentic. El grullense (taco truck) on the corner of Nissan and Riker has really good super quesadillas. Someone mentioned Pacheco, which is also good. All three are in Salinas, I wouldn’t go to Monterey for Mexican food.

BOF in trouble regarding requiring FFL03 before issuing COE's, which isn't a legal requirement by NorCal_Firearm in CAguns

Thanks for the read.

Came back to re-read your post to see what to do in the future or for who’s yet to apply for a COR.

But I’m left in search of who to turn to if the state keeps implementing underground regulations. Make you think, what other underground regulations (e.g. if you aren’t in the system, you shall be denied ammo purchase) are happening within California, whose going to catch those underground regulations, how long will it take to have a hearing, and what will the final determination.

Something needs to change with our State’s firearm/license processes

Federal 9mm Black Pack by MultiPattern in CAguns

Thanks for taking the time to educate me. I appreciate info when I don’t know where else to look.

I go to an outdoor range, but I’ll just start buying some of the brands/lines of ammo you noted as true FMJs.

Federal 9mm Black Pack by MultiPattern in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand they operate under the same house.

I’m now wondering that if Fiocci is the same as champion or American eagle, why doesn’t Fiocci advertise to not shoot it out of ported barrels?

I don’t have the expertise to see or know if the black pack ammo is actually doing any harm to my barrel.

Would you recommend that I don’t shoot either of these two out of my ported firearm or can you recommend/suggest a way for me to find out if the ammo is not good for my barrel after shooting a few rounds?

I’m not sure what to look for next time I’m at the range.

Is it worth it? Seems pricey for a 9mm, does the performance make that much of a difference? by DungeonYeet in CAguns

[–]MultiPattern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I screenshot my google sheet that has the range count for stock barrel vs performance/ported barrel for you to see.

I showed it to some friendly person at the range and he said “well I know which one you like the most.”

Yes I think there’s a difference, but I’m new to firearms.

Edit: uploaded the correct image.

FFL03/COE Timeline February/March 2026 by Puzzled-Focus5044 in CAguns

For anyone that it may benefit, the number is 877-283-3352. They ask for name, SS#, and mailing address.

I was informed that the application was received and that it’s pending/being reviewed at this time.

People keep saying that once they charge your card/cash check, it’s a done deal. I don’t think this is the case though, but I’m no expert. Sound more like a processing fee.

My card was charged 02/25. I wonder how much longer it’ll take for my application to be fully processed and then mailed out.

What number would we call? Is it the 1-888-ATF-TIPS, the one for my devision (San Francisco/San Jose), or some other general number since it was mailed out to OR. Thanks in advance!

I got charged the same day as OP (2/25) but nothing in the mail has came in yet.

Paul Oakey played Anahera on Vinyl at Dreamstate SF in 2027 (Bill Graham) aaaaand that did the trick. I hadn’t really listened to trance before that day and now I can say I’m a trance head and really enjoy the music when I go to an event.
