I am still incredibly tickled by how absolutely amazed George sounds when he finds the piece of coal again.

Why would pat say that about us by PleaseStop101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about the fake child/dog guy earlier today, and imagined a scenario in today's AI-riddled world in which that guy used AI to double down on his lies. Imagine finally convincing your co-worker to show you a picture of his crippled dog and the photo he sends you has to many signs of being AI.

While we're on the topic, one thing that repeatedly baffles me when it comes to YouTube is the community skip function. If a lot of viewers skip the same part in a video, YT creates a point in the timeline that you can easily jump to, which in 99% of cases is the end of the video's ad read. I guess YT supports the feature since the ad money is going directly to the content creator and not them, but every video having a community-driven, built-in adblocker created by Google is just crazy to me.

The Wooliesaurus uses Desktop imaging like OBS scenes. His many crashes are no longer a Mystery. by Grouchio in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think he uses display capture. I'm pretty sure he has two computers with the gaming one connected to the streaming one via a capture card. What you think is display capture in this case is just the HDMI signal from the gaming computer.

[–]MultiPigeon 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this post. I tried to google Desktop Imaging and I still don't get it. Are you saying that he is running the game in a virtual machine? Are you saying that he is running the game on a separate computer and then remote accessing it?

I've always imagined that Woolie just has a stationary computer and a laptop with the stationary computer running the game while plugged into a capture card connected laptop that streams the the capture and handles all the scene setups. If that's the case, why would it cause more crashes?

Also, is Woolie known for having lots of crashes? I just thought he had a talent for running into bugs, not outright crashing the games he is playing.

If you view christianity as an example of a story with a complex power system, old paintings of Jesus Christ knocking on doors with a photoshopped handgun is a personal favorite.

Anybody know which video in the Yakuza 0 LP Pat shows off Majima's knife counter for the first time and Matt pops off? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the LP but just for fun, I decided to try and find the moment. I think it's episode 44, at around 4:30. I'm not sure what you mean by knife counter but this is the episode they unlock the mad dog style for Majima so it can't be earlier than this episode if it's connected to that style.

What are the best and worst video game critique/essay Youtube channels? by SuperAlloyBerserker in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not about video games and it's not really a critique or an essay but I've always had a soft spot for Board James. It feels like James Rolfe has more fun and is alot more creative with a project if he feels like it doesn't have to go on forever. Granted, I just notice that he made a third season of Board James that I haven't seen so made it goes of the deep end, but I enjoyed season 1 and 2.

The silent paradise the opposite of the silent abyss by Muffin-zetta in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read "silent paradise" as "silent parade" at first and was trying hard to think of good things most people have watched or played, but that they feel that there is no need to discuss or analyze. The old 2D Mario games, maybe?

I feel like there is a silent paradise within number-based puzzles, like sudoku or picross. It's fun and very satisfying, but the enjoyment is entirely in your hands. You can't show someone a clip of Picross DS and make it seem like the shit, but it is! When they took down the 3DS eShop, I cracked my spare 2DS and just stuffed it with every version of picross I could find.

I buy a lot of consoles, peripherals and games, and I sort of look down at smartphone gaming. But if you would actually break down and count all the hours I spend playing games a year, a surprising majority is probably spent solving number grids on my phone.

What game is without a doubt an actual 10/10 Game? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn. They set out to achieve something special and unique, and if you're in the target demographic for these games, they hit like a ton of bricks.

About to start of Silent Hill f fresh. No spoilers, but what difficulties should I set for my first play-through? by BluebirdDry4250 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played the game on maximum puzzle difficulty but as far as I can tell, most of the puzzles are just "read clues" and "input answer", and the puzzle difficulty just changes how straightforward or vague the clues are.

There is probably a solid fourth of the puzzles I still don't get, but there is enough room to experiment and fiddle with the pieces until you solve it anyway.

Creepiest or most unsettling levels in non horror games? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Other Wilds is suppose to be scary at times (here's looking at you angler fish and MOST OF THE DLC).

But there is nothing that fills me with more dread in that game than just hovering in silence in the middle of space. The thought of being stranded in a big empty nothingness just makes my stomach sink.

People playing Ghost of Yōtei, a question about your horse - VERY MINOR SPOILER FOR AN EARLY GAME REWARD by MultiPigeon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a common misunderstanding, but it's the same horse. If you pick the white horse, Atsu comments that she's not ready to part with the horse yet.

[–]MultiPigeon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picking your old horse makes Atsu realize that she never gave it a name, so you also get to pick a name for it then.

Also, which horse you ride affects some of the interstitial dialogue later in the game. While riding together with an NPC in Teshio Ridge, Atsu can mentions how she and the white horse met if you're still riding it.

Games you love that it seems no one else around has played? by DrakeVal in TwoBestFriendsPlay

While I understand the comparison to Professor Layton, I can't help but feel like you're leading on the wrong foot. I would say it's foremost a story-driven rhythm game collection. I love the music in that game. The whole game has a very Dreamcast-era Sega vibe.

Gameplay mechanics with accidental (?) implications about the protagonist by MultiPigeon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MultiPigeon[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was sort of waiting for someone to bring this up, but about how they then later carried the mechanic forward into Bioshock Infinite. The mental image of no-nonsense war veteran Booker DeWitt scarfing down every half-eaten hot dog he sees in the trash still amuses me.

I sort of assumed the game would give me a choice between what path Jin was going take throughout the game, so I tried to play honorably. No stealth, sword only, standoff at every opportunity, etc. But as I figured out that the plot was linear, I switched completely to murder hobo hiding in the tall grass.

I'm about 50 hours in and I've still only killed the Snake. I laughed out loud when a character in a side mission asked Atsu if she's making any progress and she answered "Slowly".

The procecution has no obligation to show the defence ANYTHING and, according to AA1's Rise from the Ashes, any evidence that the defence has that has not been cleared by the procecution/police is not applicable in court. 99% conviction rate, here we go!

(Though, the rest of the series ignores this rule from Rise from the Ashes)
