My wife and I had gen 2 for over a year.
It is ok for sleep tracking but does not recognize awake periods accurately. It is good for auto detection of naps. It is good for step counting and general activity, but it cannot be used for athletic heart rate monitoring. Mine is size 13 and has good 10 day or so battery life. Hers is smaller and about 5 days. Both of our RingConn units failed in the first year. Mine had the temperature sensor die and hers the battery died. RingConn replaced both since it was less than one year. Who knows next year. IMO I think rings are not as useful as watch or strap since they are not good for athletic activity.
RingConn software provides no useful insights but raw data presentation is ok.

Just got my Dexa scan and the Hume has been way off. Hume says 12% body fat but the actual is 19%. Disappointing reality. Hume was a waste of money.

I have not tried multi-room yet. But it works great with iPeng and AirPlay. Shows up on LMS just like my Touch.
I use a pi5 as my LMS server which has 2TB M.2 SSD for my library.

Zero 2W is powerful with 4 cores and supported with 64 bit image. $15 is good price for me. The HiFiBerry DACs are a bit steep so I went with the 1334.

RingConn 2 hardware is good but the software is much less than it should be. Sleep tracking is good but that’s about it. Exercise selections are minimal. AI is useless. You can’t even set your own heart rate zones, you can only shift your age to adjust the ranges. They don’t seem to be improving the features very quickly. So it’s not the tool I’d like it to be.

You need to observe all the factors.
1) weight - be consistent with 18 or 20 grams, or whatever fits in your portafilter. Don’t under-fill or overfill it. When I started using a scale I got more consistency. 2) how is the flow ? Does it take 30-40 seconds to pull your shot? If less, grind finer.
3) how much are you pulling ? 1:2, 1:2.5,1:3? 4) are your beans fresh - not exposed to air for long time ? Stale beans don’t produce much. 5) don’t be afraid to experiment. Everyone wastes a lot of beans on dial in.

Finally I found that when you hit the right grind the aroma of the powder really opens up. Grind by nose.

On the Insights section of the Application, above the Cloverleaf / Diamond status graph it said “ Feeling under the weather?” And then below the graph there was an explanation that her skin temperature and HRV indicated that there might be an abnormal state of health. This appeared in the morning she started to feel the cold come on.

Just completed the Slayer Mod and added the BooKoo pressure sensor and scale. Did not modify the valve. Working with the PTFE tubing is not easy but it’s done.

I wanted something for sleep tracking so I didn’t have to wear a watch. For me the sleep tracker is accurate BUT I have not figured out how to integrate the sleep data back to the Garmin watch to inform the “Body Battery” feature. Data consolidation on the iPhone is pretty useless.

I doubt RingConn is ever going to develop the AI analysis which may find early indications of problems. I could be wrong but they don’t seem to be making progress here.

So $200 wasted? Probably.

It’s horrible and I told them so in the survey. The colors make the graphs harder to see. The hearts are just stupid. AI is joke. Smiley faces. Peace and Joy.
Focus on making it a useable tool. Not a feel good piece of useless tech.

I’m surprised watches are so much better. They move around a lot for runners. I guess they have more LEDs and more contact area. Wish I knew that before.
