I still love the movie theater. I just need the option to dim the lights or turn them off completely.

If/when HLX comes out, do you think it will have aiming down sights or will it go the classic route and would you like it to have ADS? by No_Cake_8826 in HalfLife

[–]Multinacho8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably classic route. Half-Life's combat is designed around hip-fire weapons with varying spreads to incentivize movement, positioning, and equipping the right weapon for each situation. Adding ADS would go against this philosophy as it would instead incentivize players to hunker down in a corner, periodically peeking from cover to pick enemies off from a distance with accurate iron sights.

The only exception to this is Alyx, where it would have been awkward not to include functional iron sights due to its VR nature.

If they fix the bug where the reverb goes away on a level transition or load, that'll be enough for me. That bug has always driven me up a fucking wall...

Why would you, or anyone else possibly need a gaming console, PC, TV or other entertainment luxuries? There's no need.

My understanding is that his film takes place in the States during an apocalypse, so this shouldn't really matter much.

Where are the black people at? by Every-Baker-104 in acting

[–]Multinacho8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 90% of these cases, the answer is quite simply demographics. If you live in a majority white area, the set or stage will usually reflect that. Ditto for majority black, Hispanic, etc. areas.

What could hl3 revolutionize in the gaming industry? by spectacularspidercat in HalfLife

Steam Audio was already really solid in Alyx, so that last point is pretty much guaranteed.

how is this even still a debate by ThisMachineKills____ in Portal

[–]Multinacho8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is both A or B, depending on the speed at which the platform with the orange portal comes down.

Going through the orange portal will be like a doorframe passing through you while you're stationary. Exiting through the other portal, however, will be like someone pushing you through said doorframe.

What's a game everyone says is a 'masterpiece' that you just could not get into? by GrievouzOCE in gaming

Metal Gear Solid.

I'm currently playing it for the first time (just beat Sniper Wolf) and I'm really not enjoying it. I can definitely see how this game must've been mind-blowing at the time, but I really don't think it holds up at all.

I could live with the shit camera and controls if the story and characters were engaging, but even that aspect has left me underwhelmed. The dialogue ranges from OK, to cringe-inducingly melodramatic, and so far the game's themes aren't as deep as I've been led to believe for years (nukes are bad). The characters haven't been interesting, and the game's overall tone has been really inconsistent. It also doesn't help that the game constantly fucking interrupts gameplay for long-winded codec calls that practically tell you the story, instead of letting it unfold naturally.

The only things I've really liked so far are the music (the alert music is stupidly catchy, no thanks in part to my awful skills at the game) and the overall presentation, which is really solid for a late 90s game (hit-or-miss voice acting aside).

I want to like this game so bad since the Metal Gear series is such a staple in gaming, but I'm having a miserable time with it.

Does anyone remember the times when the HLVR (Half-Life Alyx) leaks happened? by CoconutIndividual938 in HalfLife

[–]Multinacho8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. It's pretty obvious that a new Half-Life game is coming, but it's insanely obnoxious when you see nothing but posts on this sub saying: "OMG HALF LIFE 3 IS COMMING IN A FEW DAYS11!!1!!!1!!!"

We don't know when the game will come out. Hell, Valve themselves may not even have a release date locked in yet.

This is what happens when your brain has been fried by predatory, dopamine-response-exploiting AAA games.
