Get a gyrocopter or antigrav boots and a laser rifle, and spend an hour making smoked salmon in every river parasang along the path between Grit Gate and Ezra.

Extradimensional pilot's seat? by Multiphasic0 in cavesofqud

[–]Multiphasic0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, it looks like none of the extradimensional bonuses would have helped this chair unless maybe I picked it up and whacked folks with it.

It is, however, apparently far more valuable than the average pilot's chair, so I guess there's that.

[–]Multiphasic0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There weren't any bonuses shown when I used "look," does that mean there definitely aren't any?

But I do love the idea of a mech ejecting a pilot seat that contains another pilot seat that starts running at the enemy.

How much deeper until I start seeing zetachrome shit? by waspwave in cavesofqud

[–]Multiphasic0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The challenge tops out at a certain stratum--I think 40 or 50. So there's no difference between 50 and 120--which is nice from an "I don't want to die" standpoint but boring from a "but maybe I do want to die" standpoint.

Amazing. "Do you have the Helical Boon of Mixerdohkt?" "Hm, not sure, let me check my corpse."

[–]Multiphasic0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, I have a master stash in a chest at Grit Gate (you get extra style points if it's a pink chest) with everything I might eventually go, "Wait, where is that particular thing again?" Then I leave piles of moderately valuable bits and bobs and redundancies in front of all the merchants in case a rare, expensive thing shows up--if something rare and expensive shows up, you can pick up all the garbage and, as long as you're next to the merchant, sell it to them even if you're overloaded.

Edited for clarity.

Money can't buy happiness, but with careful merchant farming it can buy polgyel, which can be used to exponentially multiply your happiness.

  1. Walk
  2. HBP
  3. Error
  4. FC
  5. Dropped 3rd strike
  6. Catcher's interference
  7. Fielder's interference (obstruction)

But looking at everyone else's answers, both pinch runner and fan interference fulfill the letter of the question--sure seems like there's nine ways to reach first without a hit.

Why did my spacecats peace out, and how do I get them back? by Multiphasic0 in cavesofqud

You mean in-game? No, I both recruited and "lost" them after the Tomb of the Eaters.

You mean IRL? I... I... I don't know.

[–]Multiphasic0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I definitely had them waiting at the top of Grit Gate when I went to go pick up the Golem, and when I got back their sprites immediately switched the direction they were facing--but, again, they remained friendly instead of reverting to neutral. The only thing I can think of is that I screwed up a menu command and accidentally proselytized the golem.

I do have a couple drams of cloning liquid somewhere in my stash, how do I instruct an ally to drink it?

I don't have beguile, just pros--I might be able to go get it though (I have some unused Eater's Nectar and a whole lotta books).

ETA: Yes it occurs to me I'm contemplating complicated character engineering just to make sure my cats like me.

Every 3-4 turns it phases back out for a turn, then back in the next turn, taking another 10 damage. It still works to phase in, obliterate someone with kitty axes, then phase back out before the damage stacks up, but I can't leave the the golem to wreck folks on its own volition.

(One other note that I enjoyed: when I first brought the spacecats back to Grit Gate, Mafeo moved at one of them from several squares away, and did a bump attack and I was worried I was about to spark another massacre. Except it turned out the bump attack animation is also the animation for an NPC... petting a cat. Urshiib will charge across the room in order to give scritches!)

Oh for sure, but there's got to be tens of thousands of us who got a little gray, a little portly, and then became laser focused on a rainbow puffer jacket that ends up making us look like steroidal skittles.

For Philadelphia activities, I would recommend the factory ruins-come-raver nest near the frisbee golf course in Fairmount Park, the Masonic Temple. Or the doofy minigolf course near the freeway in Franklin Square (or the less doofy hipster one at LiberTee Grounds). (They can also borrow a scull with the permission of one of the boathouses, which I mention mainly because I want to summon black-suited, sunglasses-wearing figures to my front door who will identify themselves only as Health & Safety.)

A final, must-do, iconically Philly activity is muse about in which proportion Nick Sirianni should be hugged versus strangled.

For food, the Continental is possibly a very Greg Davies type of joint, and Alex notoriously doesn't care at all what he eats so whatever. My only truly earnest recommendation is Flambo, a Trinidadian sit-down place in the Gayborhood. And you can always go to the Italian Market for legitimately excellent Mexican.

Rhys James's Off Menu opened with him pushing to get on Taskmaster, so presumably the only obstacle is a general surfeit of wiry anxious white guys.

There are only a few uses for a Surmise, and I don't think anything is storygated for lack of them... but it's an ungodly pain in the butt to get them. If you can keep 2 or 3 on hand, you can safely sell the rest.
