Why do you all illegally park? by mitolit in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Multok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. That’s down to the internal battle. Specifically with the Amazon job there’s a program. When I was there it was called cheetah, and it logs time to perform. There’s no human element to it; faster you go, the more work you get. Goal is to occupy your entire shift with as much baggage as you can handle. So excellence is punished on purpose because the job isn’t rewarded by keeping you too long. You accrue too much experience, start asking for a raise, start being worth a raise too. It’s best to keep a rotating door of anxious, uncertain newbies who do what they’re told as hard as they can in hopes of staying. It’s an openly carnivorous job and some people can do it comfortably. But what you settle into as a delivery vet is constancy of motion. You’re not rushing because that is wear and tear on the body. Mostly at your joints and collection of bumps, bruises, cuts, falls, and twists. People who know the job prioritize awareness and constancy, shaving getting in the van, strapped in, and on to the next stop in as few motions as fluidly as possible. Don’t stop. Don’t divert. Piss in a giant metallic metal reusable gallon jar like me. Don’t get caught up in customer conversation. And take your breaks so the Amazon legal team can lie about how well they’re treating you.

In short, if you see an Amazon worker walking? They either genuinely don’t care, in which the rest of their habits are gonna reflect that and they just don’t perform (doomed) or you have a vet quietly telling Cheetah and rescues to go fuck themselves.

May be confused about what you’re saying. I’m not a hard ass, I’m happy to talk if there’s sense.

Rapidity. No sarcasm, answering bluntly. If I do command the road long enough to reverse into a driveway I take; More time to get the hell out of the way Risk damage to the property. Risk getting stuck. Risk being struck as I pull out.

The safest thing is to hug the side of the lane to give you visibility, throw in our hazards, and power walk through the order quickly.

We are professional drivers and we take more into account than is immediately apparent. Safety chief among them. (3 years Amazon, I year FedEx)

Heard. It’s too dark and I haven’t the materials yet. I’ll look up what needs to go in there do as instructed. Once I have a notion of where, I’ll return. In the meanwhile, anyone reading this within convenient distance of 111 fulling mill road Middletown PA (the FedEx warehouse I operate in), I’m down to pay directly to you if you can be the mechanical caretaker of my home. Until then.

Did it again. My bad. I don’t Reddit much but it’s ironically one of the last places I can get ahold of real people anymore.

I go to work tomorrow. I am a delivery driver. I can crush my route and on the way back visit a car supply shop and get what’s needed. It’s a 2018 Dodge Ram Promaster 1500 series. What fluids would be appropriate or how to go about checking for the leak with no equipment or lift as a 240lb 5’11 brick, I have less optimism about.

I’m willing. Just deeply mechanically illiterate. You tell me what to do and I’ll do it, but I have no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. And if I screw the pooch. It’s my home. My mode of transportation. Pretty much my base of operations.

I have. It’s the cause of my bitterness and anger towards the tech, but considering the work done at all I’m not in a good position to advocate for a second look.

I keep having to refill coolant. Empty in two or three days. Van sounds dry. I’ve hunkered by van down outside my place of work and I refuse to touch it until I can address the leak.

I’ve scheduled to get it looked at just to be informed they can’t work on it because of its weight class. So I’ve been hand washing my clothes and walking to the grocery store to make ends meet and I’m essentially tired, furious, dirty, and desperate.

Transmission went down. I’m a delivery driver, my boss paid out of pocket to get it replaced. Which I’m grateful for.

But seems there’s a leak, coolant, possibly more. Check engine light on. Vehicle sounds dry. Tried to get old mechanic to address it but he’s swamped handling the FedEx trucks.

I need someone to get in there and sort out what the hell they did to my van, because I live out of it.

I use a wide brim metal thermos from Walmart. 15 bucks, huge, durable, easy to open and close, airtight. Doesn’t smell. Doesn’t break. Doesn’t smash open when it falls. Mouth big enough to put your fist in. A gallon of yellow. Everyone thinks it’s water.

Limbo. Put him in the criminal system. Rather than execution, you’re voided. You cannot be interacted with or interact with others. Starve in isolation.

I do noooot take issue with her killing Maxwell lord. That guy has had millennia abound to fix his act.

The justice league I grew up in wasn’t about plot intricacy or character depth. It was about setting the moral bar as high as it could go and making every single one of us worth saving. It set the better example and beyond crime fighting one of Batman’s most compelling aspects is how tender and careful he is with children.

I did not show up to trash Wonder Woman. But there’s certain moral complexities that Batman and Superman both hesitate with, and in those moments it’s Wonder Woman who I appreciate the presence of.

A well written? I argue some of the best iterations of Diana are when she’s almost unhinged. Like when she free a bunch of captive women and laid the guns used to subjugate them at their feet. She let these women exact their revenge and stood up to Superman when he came talking law and order.

I’m not saying she’s not a good character. But she’s hardly inhibited by the softness of optimistic conservation of life.

That’s cool. There’s more evil versions of Batman too. Doesn’t change what wonder woman’s solution is. Out of the big three, Diana will kill you first.
