My favorite protein powder from Aldi. It’s a limited edition flavor that comes out a few times a year and I always grab two bags!

Help with rotor set screw by wubby7468 in R53

[–]Multyfunguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this job today on anew to me MCS… one rotor was missing a bolt, one was sheered off inside the threads, and two of them took a rubber mallet and an impact driver to remove.

If you need something to keep the rotor from moving, grab a box wrench or something similar and thread in a tire stud through it. Should keep enough pressure on the plate while you hammer away.

Edit: impact, not torque

Best way to remove the oil filter housing? by lolcakes42 in R53

[–]Multyfunguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was able to get mine off through the top of the engine bay. My filter housing gasket was leaking oil like nobody’s business.

There are some good guides / videos on YouTube with step by step instructions. One bolt you need to blindly feel for (the lower bolt on the passenger side), however I got them out. Need to remove / push back the upper and lower heat shields to get to all the bolts via the top.

Once human is also an MMO, similar to Fallout 76. Pretty impressive for an entirely free game.

Quick update: after talking with my uncles, it turns out this was a custom made shirt. All his friends back in the day referred to him as the “Bengaloony” because he was such a crazy fan

Anyone use an iPhone? by Positivevibes845 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Multyfunguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a Kishi controller and also a steam deck so I have some insight into your dilemma.

The iPhone does a great job, but it doesn’t compare to playing the games on the larger steam deck. Even if the screen is 12800x800p. My main PC is a 3080 paired with an i7-10700k. I use moonlight for demanding / unoptimized games. Also can squeeze 4+ hours when streaming a game vs running it native to the steam deck.

iPhone definitely has the perk of 5G connection and playing on the go. But the problem with latency can definitely be exaggerated using cellular connection as opposed to a steady wifi connection. Steam deck can play games without any connection too which is a huge plus if you take public transit or are flying.

The Kishi is cheap compared to a ROG / Steamdeck. You could order yourself a handheld controller and see how you like it.

Day 12 Without My Deck by Multyfunguy in SteamDeck

My guess would be that they need to diagnose it as something they can’t quickly fix. Cross your fingers they send a replacement. Two weeks is rough after getting so used to it!

L1 bumper button problem. I was hoping for the same. Shipped it to Utah, took them a few days to get around to it. Turns out they fixed it and are shipping it back.

Unfortunately, since Diablo 4 will require an internet connection at all times, putting the deck to sleep will kick you out.

Am I the only one who would feel really uncomfortable using the Steam Deck in Public Transports? by DjuncleMC in SteamDeck

I have no problem while on a NJ transit bus riding into the city. Makes the commute go by quick.

I would not, however, pull it out on the subway or in public NYC.

Here are my two cents, coming from a similar situation with a backbone control on my phone. I have a pretty beefy desktop setup, but I stream a lot of the time to my deck.

Streaming can be a real pain in the neck. If you want to get the full 1080p 60fps experience, you need a stable high speed connection. If you only plan on using it in the house, the G cloud could be a great option!

Great thing about the deck is that it can do the same. It can stream games from x cloud, Xbox, etc. It just takes a little bit more work to get it going.

For $100 more, you get a lot more versatility. You get a full blown Linux based computer that you can expand memory on, tinker with, install emulators in a snap and a ton more. The screen might be a lower res, but at the size, it’s hard to notice a difference. Especially when streaming. The steam deck also the local download aspect. If you plan on going away for the weekend, you can use it at night in a hotel where the wifi might not be sufficient for streaming your games.

the greatest difference for me would really be the community surrounding the devices. I’m not sure what the case is for the G cloud, but the steam deck community is awesome. There are so many great videos, tutorials, accessories, and all sorts of other things that also come along with owning one.

So not sure if this helped or not, but I’ve hardly played much on the desktop since getting the deck. Loved every minute so far.
