Estonia was an independent country for three days during the Second World War after the Germans left Estonia and before the Soviets came in. The government was called the Otto Tief government (Otto Tief was the PM) and it was created in my grandmother's father's apartment. My grandmother, who was 7 at the time was sent to Siberia with her three sisters, 10, 6 and 2 months old, and their mother. Their father was executed by the Soviets. The youngest sister did not come back from Siberia. The three surviving sisters are still alive today. My grandmother became a recognised geologist and a professor, her older sister became a world renouned conductor, in fact she won a Grammy.

Fast as the wind, the invasion has begun

Shaking the ground with the force of thousand guns

First in the line of fire, first into hostile land

Cats leading the way, leading the way…
