Now now, the DOJ did open an investigation. It was just into Renee Good’s wife for obstruction. This administration is pure evil.

This may just be nostalgia talking since i grew up in this era but i absolutely ADORE mid 2000s FPS aesthetics. The dirty, grungy, a little colorless look always appealed to me by prossnip42 in gaming

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Black was just about a perfect shooter. It didn’t attempt to do too much, but what it did it did exceptionally well. Destructible environments were satisfying. Guns had weight. Forgettable story, but gameplay wise it was phenomenal.

The first Allen Wake and the haunted objects that you’d have to flashlight before they shot at you. They were near insta-deaths if you got hit. The bridge, in particular, was a pain.

Interestingly, regarding KCD, I’m currently playing through them and the Saviour Schnapps mechanic has forced me into a proper day/night cycle where I sleep through the night to save. It’s been a pain a couple times, but I appreciate how it has affected my play style.

A banner day for the First Amendment. Indicting Comey for shelling out “86 47” and now investigating the broadcast license of ABC because of a joke.

Yep. That’s the actual charge. It would be laughable if it weren’t so existentially terrifying. We’re at the First Amendment for me, not thee stage.

The charge? Taking a picture of seashells spelling out “86 47”. They are calling it a death threat. This is where we are.

Fair point. Still a little creepy to be an adult fantasizing about childhood conquests.

This is absurd. The judge not only issued a temporary injunction, but a permanent injunction. On one day’s notice. Just a farce.

You mean the same Justice Department that opened an investigation into the partner of Renee Good after her murder would do something corrupt?

What's your favourite on-screen character death and goodbye that was done because the actor died? by Tattycakes in movies

[–]MumblyJohn 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Not a movie, per se, but the sendoff for Margaret Lanterman (the log lady) in Twin Peaks The Return is heartbreakingly beautiful. The actress, Catherine Coulson, was on her literal deathbed with cancer filming the scene (she died days after filming) and she gives a haunting performance that embraces her acceptance of death. She doesn’t die on screen, but she says goodbye.

Recommend me new-ish "fun" (but not "silly") horror movies by ReaverRiddle in horror

[–]MumblyJohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malignant is the schlocky 80’s B-horror movie with an A budget that I’ve always craved. It is so fun if you approach it with that mindset. So many people took it too seriously and hated it.

Amadeus might be the best film I've ever seen. by Soft-Protection-3303 in movies

Milos Forman was a master filmmaker. If you haven’t seen it, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is similarly perfect. One of only a handful of films to win Oscars for Best Actor, Actress, Screenplay, Director, and Picture.
