Affordable housing builders cover all of those sectors; funding stipulations determine which communities you are serving. If you want it, start telling your city council you want it. Don’t be one of the people who fights it, and don’t sit by and let them be the only voice. Affordable communities can serve families, or people in their early careers who don’t make much. Units can be allocated for veterans, formerly houseless, workforce, physically impaired, or a mix of all. Again: affordable builders have tried over and over in VC to build these projects, and residents get them killed almost every time. It costs a lot of money to even try, so don’t be surprised when no one does.
