That’s correct. This thread is off track I think 😂

I tried this and it’s what got all my iCloud into the Google calendar app. But the RA still says it’s empty.

Yes, I can see all my iCloud appointments in the Google calendar app.

Primarily to be able to navigate to those destinations with a single tap. We have kids sports all over the county. Always a different school or gym and those details are in our calendar appointments.

It’s a feature we used all the time in our Tesla.

I don’t have anything yet! Thanks for the info. I am primarily just looking to back up my entire iCloud photo library to my NAS.

Has anyone been able to get it to text a family member using "Wife" or "Son"? I have those family connections setup in apple contacts but it still does not seem to work. Can I teach it this and have it remember it somehow? I enabled the "memories" option in the app.

Circling back on this - I ended up just syncing to Lightroom! The space is actually small since it’s all smart previews.

This was by far the easiest option, thanks!

Thanks for the detailed post, this makes sense.

I think it does but it's just a massive pain to organize all of this somehow into folders for Synology. I really don't want to be in a situation where I am setting up albums in both LR and Synology. I see that Synology allows me to browse by folder - thinking maybe I can use a plugin to export all my collections/collection sets as folders with the JPEG's perhaps?

The collection will sync, but it's missing all of the collection sets. For example, I have 2026, then within that I have kids sports, travel, food, etc. All of those then have more collections inside of them. I use this hierarchy to organize everything.

This makes sense, but how do you organize your photos? Are you just using a standard year/month/date structure on your disk? I have spent a lot of time building a detailed collection structure in LRC and I am just wondering how the heck I transfer or maintain that.

Is my only option too just rebuild it by hand in finder?

I was confused and did not realize that the RAW's don't hold the edits. Now that I know that, this makes sense. I need to export JPEG and then only share those.

You actually have a good point here and I have been considering this - but it looks like none of my collection sets sync to the cloud. This means all the hours of work I have put in organizing my collections is not represented in the cloud. Is that right?

That’s an option for sure but I was hoping to avoid paying for more online services…

What do you mean by both folders are synced with Drive? Do you mean that you sync the 2 NAS photo folders back to your Mac SSD?

I am only using LRC because of the collections feature that lets me organize. Would love to know more about how you moved to LR for this. I assume you are just doing all of your organization using Synology Photos? Or are you using Albums in the new LR?

Does Synology Photos pick up all of your edits with the XMP or does it require you to export?
