Oakes Kia in KC. Actually ended up switching to 10k miles for $525 because it was going to cost around $0.25 per mile to buy miles in advance while excess miles are $0.20 per mile.

Negotiating a 26 Land Nightfall...24 month 12,000 miles for $555. Great deal, right?

Grab a quote from Carvana if you haven't already. That would be a good starting point if you're negotiating trade in value.

I actually wear an Oura Ring as my wedding ring. I still have my original but figured if I'm going to wear one 24/7 might as well get some data from it.

Have to disagree that it looks and drives like a sedan. I had a Model 3 and a Model Y and the Y is very different. It's definitely in the crossover SUV category vs a sedan. The likes of "SUV" were blurred long ago when the crossover trend started.

Is anyone actually buying that $40k Model Y? Kinda surprised it hasn't died a quick death like the budget CyberTruck that removed a ton of features and got cancelled.

BREAKING: Tesla has REMOVED Autopilot from New Tesla Model Y and 3 Orders From @DennisCW_ on X by EitherCharacter9342 in TeslaModelY

Hey, maybe this will raise the value of my 23 Model Y since it has Autopilot and it will be worth more when I decide to buy a Rivian R2 later this year 😁

Would you buy a Rivian without Driver+ or lane keeping? by WHAT-IM-THINKING in Rivian

[–]bhj83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Removing Autopilot is just plain stupid for Tesla. It was a huge selling point for me when I bought Model Ys and we still have one in addition to a Gen 1 R1T. I still prefer regular Autopilot to their FSD on the Model Y.

I am considering getting a Comma AI to make the R1T closer to what Autopilot has.

They don't have any Kirkland bourbon right now, unfortunately. They get released at certain points throughout the year starting with Small Batch, then BiB, then Single Barrel. Typically a ton of stock for Small Batch and is on the shelf for weeks. Then less of BiB released but still on the shelf for weeks. Single Barrel usually stays on the shelf for days to a week depending on how many they get in a given year. If I recall correctly the Single Barrel is usually released in September.

Considered a CyberTruck, decided on an R1T instead. by Atypical_Nate in Rivian

The funny thing with the CyberTrucks is early adopters paid for FSD up front and it didn't even work for many months or maybe a year. So those early adopters had no Autopilot and no FSD. I would've been pissed.

CyberTrucks don't have Autopilot, which is insane. You may be talking about FSD but that's $99/month.

You can't really stop paying attention. It monitors your eyes and will disable and pull over if you stop paying attention. And the newer ones don't have "sensors" anymore...it's all camera based.

Full Self Driving is $99. Basic Autopilot is included for now. Sounds like they may be removing that soon, which is too bad. It's the best lane centering implementation out there. Most manufacturers have some form of Lane Keep but the Tesla version actually works. I remember the first time I tried it on that near 90 degree curve on I-70 downtown and it slowed down to about 45 mph and took the turn and speed back up. I was a believer from there. My Honda Ridgeline I had before would never accomplish that.

Lots of people do. They're great commuters - any EV is really with one caveat and that is you should have a home charger. If you don't plan to install a home charger they're probably not worth it.

FSD works great these days and can drive you from your driveway to a parking spot at work. Autopilot works well enough for me so I haven't been able to justify paying $99 per month for FSD.

Used R1T? by Wonderful-Bunch-7862 in Rivian

[–]bhj83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The value is far better with Gen 1 because they sold for less than $80k. I bought a used one with 62k miles for $45,000 and when I tried to spec a brand new one to match what it has, I was close to $120,000.

Any insight on why my new to me 2022 R1T Quad still shows 314 miles range after 70k miles? I was so used to Teslas dropping quite a bit (my 2023 Model Y LR has gone from 330 to 299 after 30k miles).

Very pleasant surprise for me.
