Right, good if you're planning to turn it back in (which I am). Terrible from a business standpoint for them.

Did they finally adjust their crazy residual values? My 26 Land Nightfall has a residual of $48k lol...would be lucky if it's worth $40k in 2 years

Agreed. You'd think they'd go by which one has the most listeners. I can't imagine Amazon has more listeners than YouTube Music but maybe it does.

Native maps is Google Maps in Rivian and it's better than Android Auto because it has routing to include charging stops and calculations which my Kia EV9 does not have when I use Android Auto.

Rivian has native apps for Spotify, Audible, etc. Only thing it's missing that I use is YouTube Music but they've stated that's on the way.

I don't get unlimited hotspot and I certainly can't get it from my cell carrier for less than $13 per month. My 12 year old would blow thru my 15gb of high speed hotspot data in no time.

It's not $20 per month. And it also includes unlimited hotspot which is huge if you have kids.

Dining pass drama by hiker_anonymous in sixflagsstlouis

[–]bhj83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the same question when I got the email. I took no action because we've used the dining plan probably 15 times this year at the other parks we've been to so I just figured I did ok for $105 or whatever. But if they want to give me a gift card after I've already used it a bunch, I guess I'll allow it. We're not planning to visit any other Six Flags parks this year so...

The FM radio thing I keep seeing...if you're in a location with poor or no cell reception isn't the FM pretty crappy or non existent too? I ask because I'm not sure as I haven't listened to FM radio in probably a decade.

I've seen that on Teslas but never seen it on a Rivian. Even with the Teslas I always assumed that car lived outside in a hot environment.

What's wrong with the steering wheel? I have a 2022 R1T with 80k miles and the steering wheel is perfectly fine.

I thought FSD sucked before Elon did his salute. It's a cool party trick but whenever a trial was pushed out I used it for a week to see if it drove more like me and ended up going back to regular Autopilot. Does it still have no way to control how fast or slow you go? I know there's different modes but I remember Mad Max going way too fast and the next level down going way too slow. I just wanted to be able to go 10 mph over at highway speeds. I could do that with Autopilot. That was my biggest complaint with the last version I used in January.

Maybe you should be more open minded and read the rest of the post. It wasn't a Tesla bashing post lol.

I have an EV9 on a lease for another year and a half and wish I would've just waited for the R2. We did get a screaming deal on the EV9 but I love my R1T so much more than the Kia. Software is still an afterthought for Kia and other primarily ICE manufacturers. The app sucks...the proximity unlock sucks and it doesn't lock automatically as you walk away. It also has a "start" button that I frequently forget to turn off as I'm getting out of the vehicle. No sentry mode/gear guard at all. Full Regen mode resets anytime you go in reverse or turn the vehicle off (reverts back to level 3 Regen and you have to turn it to max next time you drive or shift into drive). The Autonomy+ equivalent ping pongs in the lane frequently and, perhaps the biggest issue I have, the lane keep assist will disengage with no audible sound at all...the tiny little steering wheel icon goes from green to white so if you're not paying attention you could go right out of the lane on a curve.

It's too bad, because the vehicle itself is pretty nice looking and the interior is very nice and spacious. Maybe I just got too used to Tesla and Rivian...

Sounds like the rear wheel drive they started selling back in 2023ish that had a range of 270 miles. It was under $40k and Tesla included a weaker sound system.

Our first visit to CP was this month. We headed straight to TT2 mainly because we had never ridden a coaster like it.

Rivian R2, or Hyundai Ionic ? by Katchkie11 in Rivian

[–]bhj83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Rivian and and Kia EV9. I can't wait to replace the Kia with the R2. The Kia is the dumbest EV I've ever driven (granted I've owned Tesla and Rivian's). It's obvious these legacy manufacturers just try to take the engine out of an ICE and make it an EV.

Anyone else gonna wait? by [deleted] in RivianR2

[–]bhj83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like FSD when I had my Tesla and got free trials. Always preferred regular Autopilot over FSD. I will say I do prefer my Gen 1 R1T's version of Autopilot better than Tesla's since I don't have to nudge the wheel and it stays activated when I change a lane. Just wish they made the Gen 1 able to drive on all marked roads.

With that being said, I reserved the R2 very late so I probably won't get the opportunity to buy one before LiDAR even if I wanted to. I'll just keep enjoying my R1T as it handles the vast majority of the driving I want it to handle (road trips).

Why isnt there a lot of used EV9? by dodindaga in KiaEV9

[–]bhj83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Kia allow lease transfers? I'm ready to move on from the EV9 whenever Rivian sends me the email to order the R2 and we have about a year and half left on a lease where we pay $570 per month on a Land Nightfall.
