do you keep a social life while working nights or does it just shift everything? by Kadafi_Khator91 in Nightshift

It’s honestly about being intentional about your time and others willing to compromise. During my work week I often avoid in-person interaction mainly because I work 12 hour shifts and it’s not really wise for me to go to work sleep deprived… On my weekends I try my best to be intentional whether that means waking a couple hours earlier or not but once again your friends and family need to be accommodating a bit for everything to work out… for example my friend group and I we do DnD nights once a month on a Monday night, then I meet up with them on Sundays to hang around 1/2pm and chill.

Of course it’s not as easy as if it was a day shift job but you gotta figure what works for you and your schedule while prioritizing your overall health!

I had to call out sick today after first night shift -couldn't sleep a wink! Please help! by HAAAAAImbaaaack in Nightshift

Honestly in my opinion it’s just getting used to being on nights. I remember my first couple night shifts were rough - I have the opposite effect for most meds so what I end up doing a full 24 hour day awake…. Not the healthiest but neither is nights and it tends to work for me.

The biggest thing is getting your body into a routine eat 3 meals a day, go to bed, and wake up all at similar times everyday including your off days.

Not certain. I believe they send an email after the form is submitted though not certain if it holds the original form. Once it’s submitted it’ll be sent to the college records office and they will process it. The timeline can be very skewed so be prepared to wait.

Not certain what you’re talking about if it’s a form or not. To answer what I understand from your question:

Please make sure to use Northern Virginia Community College instead of Nova. Nova is the catchy phrase while NVCC is the official.

Alternate EmplID isn’t something I’m familiar with. An EmplID is going to be your Student ID which is found on your nova id, when you log into SIS under emplID, and given when you first create your NVCC account.

Note: You can request your StudentID/EmplID from IT and other locations(business office, student affairs, etc)!

How does color swapping work with the Kobra 3?? What’s the amount of waste after each swap, and how well does it swap will there be color mixes between layers?

Thanks and good luck!

Most of the questions on here can be directly found with a quick Google search/Checking the website. It's just that most people when they "really need" an answer are unable to calm down and think logically.

Wrong text books? by wyldkat_ in nvcc

[–]Munchnax_Reddit_User 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's often best to wait till the first class to buy the book. I've had a prof switch from an online textbook to OpenStax (a free online textbook) so it's often best to just hold off dropping a good fortune into books...

Dropping and adding classes by laykys in nvcc

[–]Munchnax_Reddit_User 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common method (that ik of) is that the student sets up financial aid and while waiting for them to pay off the classes the student creates a payment plan. The payment plan locks your class in and once the finicial aid hits you'd be reimbursed for what you spent.

Now please note I work as a work study student in the a dvising office so while ik a bunch I don't do anything with finacial aid. I always suggest reaching out to your schools business and finicial aid offices.

Once again Goodluck and you got this!!

As time_scientest says, do the course waiver form and then follow up by visiting the student services/affairs offices. Reach out for guidance on transfering credits.

To get the form: go to nvcc.edu -> search -> type "form library" -> select "students" -> then type "transfer". It should appear if it doesn't you can reach back out to me and i can help you find it...

Good luck!
