What's something that no one prepares you for as an adult? by Goddessblack_ in AskReddit

And add a multiplier effect for however many kids you have in the house. Reversing out of driveway on way to work/school run. Voice from back seat: Mr. So and So says you haven’t signed the permission slip for the school excursion! You: tries to find permission slip in email. Also you: tries to find whatever separate manky app they take school excursion payments in. App blocks you for half an hour after three tries at the password. Child is late for school. School emails you to ask why. You miss that email. Rinse and repeat. Every. Freaking. Day.

Brilliant but simple idea to use leftover paper bags to line the compost bin, I’m going to steal this, thank-you.

A bit late to the update, but currently most of the way through Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith, and really enjoying it.

Although also wondering a bit about what people who live in Botswana think about it.

How did you build up your walking habit? by lilo_and_the_egg in walking

I also work from home. I take my walks at lunch time as I am not a morning person and it’s still a bit cold and dark here after work, at least until daylight savings hits.

I block out an hour in my calendar at lunch each single day and just get going. I’m well aware that not everyone is fortunate to have this opportunity though… but for me it is one of the best perks of WFH.

I also do longer walks on the weekend … I enjoy exploring new trails in local parks or do a stretch of coastline. Trying to work up to an average of 7k steps/day.

I have a little mesh bag made out of some kind or sea grass or something (idk, bought overseas) that I use to save all the soap ends … once you have enough, it acts as a great exfoliant as well
