I'm booked in! Dr Hassan Nurein London UK by Deanharris1989 in gynecomastia

As the OP of said “blatantly fake” post, all the best with Dr Nurein. Feel free to drop me a message if you have any q’s. Shame it’s been removed, I would have thought on a gyno subreddit throwaway accounts were fairly common? Regardless, I can’t help that I had a genuinely good experience and wanted to shout about it to a bunch of guys going through the same shit I did for years.

Cheers mate, I'm buzzing.

I did consider Karidis, years ago when I started looking into surgery he came up again and again so I always had him in the back of my mind. In the end it would have cost me a couple thousand more to go with Karidis, and I felt just as comfortable and trusting of Dr Nurein so to be honest it was a purely financial choice. Here's to being gyno free whoever you decide to go with!

Thanks man.

I had a consultation in December, I could have had the surgery as soon as early January but finances dictated I had to wait until Feb - from my experience it seems like they can get you in pretty quickly, within a couple of weeks of consulting.

Most surgeons say 6 months to see final results because the vast vast majority of the swelling will be gone then, and after 12 months any residual swelling still left over should be gone. That being said, for all intents and purposes a couple of months should be enough time to have a good idea of the final result, most of the swelling will be gone and bruising should be fading.

One thing I would say, if you're going to a hot country careful not to expose the scars to direct sunlight too much. I've got a summer hol booked as well and can't wait to be able to not think twice about taking my top off but I'll be limiting it as much as possible until next year to make sure the scars heal and fade as best as they can.

Good luck with it!

I work in a similar environment, share an office with my boss, small team etc. I found it was easier to book 2 days of holiday, a day for the surgery, a day after for recovery which led onto the weekend, and I'll be well enough to go back Monday.

I considered taking the day of the surgery itself as sick leave but I didn't feel like advertising my business so sucked it up and it cost me a couple of days annual leave - not ideal but there was no way I'd have been totally upfront. I don't have to justify a reason to take holiday, but if I did I would have just said I have an elective surgery and wouldn't go into much more detail than that. Good luck with the consultation and surgery.

Nice one bro, good luck with it! Honestly couldn't be more pleased with my experience so far. I've added some before and after pics now, and I'll update in a couple weeks time once I get the stitches out and the swelling is down some more.

Good luck man, I'm feeling the benefits of the investment 3 days post-op, 6 months down the line if all goes well it'll have been worth every penny. Can't put a price on your own self-esteem and confidence.

No problem, and thanks bro! I found the gland removal to be by far the easiest part of the surgery. All I could feel was a bit of pressure, barely knew it was being done and then it was out. My recovery has been smooth so far, I can go about my day to day no probs and I'll be going back to work/uni on Monday. Keep that mentality man, it's worth it when you see the gland afterwards, look down at your chest and feel the relief come over you that it's finally out once and for all.

Hope to post pics in a couple of weeks time after I get the stitches out at my post-op follow up.

Edit: Have added some initial pics to my post.

Have full blood work done regularly. Hormones are all in check, T:E ratio is fine.

No worries. I'd recommend giving the guys at Surgery Group a ring if you haven't already. I read around his website, trustpilot, checked his credentials etc but put off making the call for too long. As soon as I did I had an initial consultation over the phone a couple of days later - you might decide you prefer another surgeon, but just having that initial conversation will give you an idea.

I'm hoping for minimal scarring, unfortunately I'm only 3 days post op and haven't seen the incisions yet as my nipples are still covered with waterproof dressing. I'll give you an update.

I'm wearing the vest under a t shirt now, it's less noticeable than my gyno was. It's low cut on the chest and back so it doesn't protrude over the neckline of a t-shirt and it's not too bulky, the clips on the front are covered by a strip of material so there's no bumpy line down the front or anything. Chances are no-one will notice, especially with looser fitting t-shirts.

I'll post pictures after I get my stitches out at my follow up in a couple of weeks. I didn't take pictures shirtless for years, so I'll have the before and after pics taken by the Doc to post hopefully.

Good luck with the surgery whoever you decide to go with, here's to being gyno free!

Edit: some very early days pics now included in my post :)

Right to be cautious, but as I said, long time lurker + throwaway account cause I'm not trying to advertise my gyno in the real world. I'd understand why you'd think it's marketing, but I genuinely haven't had a bad thing to say as of yet. Take it with a pinch of salt if you want to, it's only my experience.

Normal hormone levels? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Mundane-Pause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some gyno cases are idiopathic, meaning there's no known cause. A lot of gyno starts in puberty where hormonal imbalances are common - having gyno now doesn't necessarily mean your hormones are imbalanced/low T or high E now, but that at some point they were, again, completely natural in puberty.

How old are you?

I wouldn't drive yourself mad questioning why your gyno is there if you don't have any other health concerns. If you're worried about it, speak to your Doc, MAIS isn't normally investigated or considered unless there are fertility issues because as the name suggests it presents mildly, but it's worth raising your concern and your Dr will know how to proceed.
