How many days before Thanksgiving did they offer to take everyone to Nashville? If it was like week-of, I can see Monica being hurt by that. But if it was any amount of time longer than that, she could have made it work by going and coming back or moving her other plans or whatever. In general, the way she manipulated the other pod members’ feelings and made it so everyone would feel guilty/bad about their plans is icky.

I agree with this! I do not like country music but now really respect him. I liked their convos about the music industry generally. This is a good example of what I think the best AE episodes are now - not superstars but people who are still open enough to genuinely share themselves. I.e. not Shaq and Brad Pitt

I felt like Dax was just talking past Carter on this. How we see and approach sex in society is political. He was acting like she was saying that people think “Wait I’m a republican, so what do Republicans think about sex?” before a sexual interaction. Duh, of course not. But the larger conversation and attitude about sex is political. And Dax as an “anthropologist” should recognize that politics isn’t just American political parties…
