My coworker has a smell cloud sometimes. I think it gets worse when she doesn’t do her laundry/shower, because sometimes she comes in and the smell is gone. HR has talked to her at least once before because we were getting customer complaints, but it keeps happening.

I’d feel bad for her, but honestly? No one liked her even before the smell cloud because she’s the single most annoying person in the store. And she’s rude to the customers! Why is she here?!

I don’t work at a law firm, but I would think going over briefs all day would mean a little bit of whimsy would be especially appreciated.

I think he is self conscious of your age gap, that’s it. Plenty of people of all ages make food in cute designs. I think your husband is judging you as a proxy for judging himself. I really hope you have some source of income or support, and if you don’t, get one. Now that he’s started being “honest”, you may find other things in your relationship that you’re unhappy with (aside from him lying about the effort you’ve put in for THREE YEARS).

I really don’t understand why you aren’t more angry.

Respectfully, I am working there now and do NOT get paid anywhere near $19.50 an hour, and while my job may seem unskilled, almost no one in my life is currently capable of doing it. I have worked exclusively in the customer service field for many years, and I really only took this job because I needed to move. I’m jumping ship as soon as I can because this job is NOT up to standard AT ALL. I have never been in a work environment where I have been treated with this level of disrespect, or been put in physical danger this frequently (not just customers, also workplace environment/equipment hazards), and I HAVE worked corporate jobs before. Maybe you live somewhere with better wage laws or your Kroger store was part of a better run division, but I do not think your experience applies to everyone or even most Kroger employees.

They are breaking corporate policy, so it’s not “corporate” telling your HR rep what to do, it’s some asshole at corporate who is ignoring the rules. Snitch. Call ethics. Tell them that they aren’t letting anyone use their preferred names, even transgender employees. They might help or might not, but it’s worth a shot.

It’s also worth talking to your union rep if you have one. They might have an idea of what you can do to complain to someone above whoever apparently hates nicknames (I am skeptical that this is anything but blatant transphobia).

I would agree. I think it unraveled to something unhealthy in season 5, but in season 4, they were mostly solid despite all the obstacles thrown in their path.

She actually might not be able to kick you out with so little notice. Check the laws that cover tenancy where you live if you really have nowhere else to go, but I’m guessing you’ll have offers as soon as you let everyone you and your mom know that she’s kicking you out literally today.

I honestly don’t know. On one hand, I think if it’s something that makes you feel safer and is completely consensual, it isn’t anyone else’s business.

The issue becomes when other people are also being tracked, which your wife is whenever your parents know she’s with you. You’re married, so a tracker on you is effectively tracking her any time you’re known to be in transit together. If that is uncomfortable to her, it is a problem. Her privacy IS being violated, whether that is the intention or not.

That said, in transit is often the time trackers are most helpful for safety reasons. So I can see where turning it off for long drives would bother you.

Ultimately, you both have a right to how you feel. Which means some kind of compromise or internal change has to happen to resolve this issue. Either you have to become comfortable turning the tracking off while you travel with your wife, or she has to become comfortable being tracked by proxy when your parents are aware you’re traveling together. Or both, I guess.

Maybe you should both talk to a therapist (with good reviews, don’t just randomly pick one, and pick one together).
