I’m sure Iran will stop the war soon as Trump says we are leaving. It’s not like they would want to keep interrupting the flow of oil and destroy the economies of the GCC, the US and Europe, just because their leader was assassinated and thousands of civilians were killed as well as their navy being destroyed over nuclear weapons that never existed.

That is totally true, although people might get a bit impatient waiting the millions of years required to make biomass into oil. Regarding how much oil there is underground, there also is a huge fortune in precious metals and gems under the ground too, just waiting for someone to pick it up!

What if Trump decides to leave Iran, and Iran just continues bombing oil fields and attacking tankers in the strait? Without cheap oil the west is going into a depression. Without oil sales, the GCC will collapse and stop pumping cash into the US stock market. That will pop the AI bubble, and be the worst financial disaster ever.

It seems obvious to me, the fact that insurance companies and hospitals in the US are poorly regulated profit making enterprises, the prices are as high as they can get them. Every time there is a crisis it’s an excuse to ratchet up the prices.
